Audio entertainment platform Pocket FM is witnessing another senior-level exit, with Mayank Sancheti, Senior Vice President, stepping down from his role, according to the sources aware of the matter.

Sancheti has tendered his resignation and is currently serving his notice period, a person familiar with the development said, requesting anonymity.

He has been associated with Pocket FM for several years and played a significant role in driving the company’s product, monetisation and growth strategies. Prior to joining Pocket FM, Sancheti worked with global mobility firms Grab and Uber in strategy and product-focused roles.

Pocket FM did not respond to a detailed query sent by publication time.

The development comes close on the heels of another senior leadership exit at the company. Earlier, Entrackr reported that Pocket FM’s Chief Financial Officer Anurag Sharma had also resigned and is serving his notice period as he looks to pursue entrepreneurial opportunities.

The company is expected to appoint Abhilash Padival, Director of India Investment Banking at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, as its next chief financial officer, according to sources.

The back-to-back departures come at a time when Pocket FM is tightening its focus on profitability and operational efficiency amid a challenging funding environment for consumer internet startups. Last month, the company laid off more than 100 employees as part of a restructuring exercise aimed at reducing costs and streamlining operations.
