Amazon India has introduced its AI-powered “Seller Assistant", an intelligence tool designed to help micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) manage and scale their operations. The launch comes directly ahead of Prime Day 2026, serving as a strategic rollout to provide lakhs of Indian sellers with enterprise-grade capabilities during high-volume shopping periods.
The tool operates 24/7 in English and Hinglish, allowing sellers to ask questions and manage their business through simple conversation. It helps them every step of the way, starting with setup and automatically creating product titles and descriptions, even filling out most of a product’s details from just a single photo or website link.
It also tracks stock levels to give sellers personalised alerts on when to reorder and helps those looking to sell abroad by scanning local safety and legal rules automatically.
Finally, it includes smart features that check the health of advertising accounts and help new products get noticed quicker by connecting them with trusted reviewer networks.
Abhijit Kamra, Director of Seller Experience for Emerging Markets at Amazon, highlighted that the tool effectively bridges the gap between small enterprises and massive retail corporations. He framed the launch as part of a larger commitment to national digital infrastructure, stating that "we are entering an era where AI is a highly skilled team you already have. Today, a small seller operating from a single room has access to the same intelligence that powers the world’s largest commerce operations. Aligned with the Government’s IndiaAI Mission, we have committed to bringing AI capabilities to 15 million businesses by 2030.”
Early performance data indicates that sellers utilising these AI-powered listing tools have reduced time spent on routine operational tasks by 70 per cent. To support adoption ahead of Prime Day, Amazon India is executing dedicated “Seller Connects” masterclasses and workshops across more than 20 cities nationwide, which have already trained over 5,000 sellers in listing creation, inventory planning, and fulfilment strategies. This initiative coincides with the tenth edition of Amazon Prime Day in India, which returns this July.
