PVV Infra, a leading wayside amenities player, has placed bids for three sites and will be submitting bids for two additional sites soon.
The company has placed bids for developing wayside amenities on the National Highway between Gwalior-Jhansi and two sites near Ujjain, the temple city. It will submit two more bids for two sites on the Delhi-Dehradun stretch.
Further, the company has shortlisted eight high potential sites as a part of strengthening its wayside amenities business, spread across major national highway corridors, including Raipur–Vizag, Bengaluru–Chennai, Ujjain–Garoth, and Delhi–Dehradun in Andhra Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
This will take the total number of sites the company is currently eying to 13 and make the company one of the leading players in the wayside amenities business.
The company believes that the WSA segment represents a long-term infrastructure opportunity aligned with India’s expanding highway network, rising passenger mobility, freight movement, tourism growth, and the transition toward cleaner transportation ecosystems, including EV mobility, it said.
PVV Infra said the proposed WSA developments are envisioned as integrated traveller-service hubs capable of supporting multiple infrastructure and commercial layers, including fuel stations, EV charging infrastructure, food courts, quick-service restaurants (QSRs), truck terminals, healthcare facilities, convenience retail, dormitories, hospitality modules, and premium rest zones.
The company highlighted that it intends to focus significantly on developing the passive infrastructure backbone required for such projects, including civil infrastructure for petrol pumps, QSR chains, EV charging stations, parking zones, utility systems, logistics facilities, and in select locations, hospitality and hotel infrastructure, catering to long-distance travellers and commercial transport operators.
PVV Infra added that the WSA model provides opportunities for recurring and diversified revenue streams through lease rentals, revenue-sharing arrangements, fuel and charging infrastructure, hospitality operations, retail partnerships, logistics support services, and facility management.
The company further stated that the WSA model creates opportunities for collaboration with leading national players across a wide infrastructure and mobility ecosystem.
