Consumer products major Reckitt on Wednesday said India witnessed double-digit revenue growth in Q1 CY2026. The growth was broad-based with strong performance by brands such as Dettol and Finish.
“India delivered double-digit growth in Q1 led by strong growth in Germ Protection (Dettol), Intimate Wellness (Durex), and Household Care (Finish) categories, with execution further enhanced by our ongoing sales transformation driving expanded coverage,” the company stated in its earnings statement.
On the earnings call, Kris Licht, Chief Executive Officer, Reckitt said, “Excluding the seasonal business, Core Reckitt delivered 3.1 per centlike-for-like growth. This was led by high single-digit growth in emerging markets, with China and India both delivering double-digit growth and Dettol continuing to perform strongly in both countries, driven by innovation.”
The company’s core business includes key power brands such as Harpic, Dettol, Air Wick, Gaviscon, Lizol, Veet and Durex, which generate the majority of its revenues.
“In India, our expanded distribution reach will continue to drive growth for our market-leading power brands,” he added.
The consumer products major noted that India’s double-digit growth in the quarter was due to “broad-based strength” seen across all categories. It added that markets like India benefited from the launch of innovations including Dettol Activ Botany.
In terms of growth outlook, Reckitt said that it expects to see continued strong performance in emerging markets led by China and India.
Power brands
“While the economic backdrop is uncertain, we expect to see a step-up in performance in Core Reckitt in Q2 and beyond... This will be driven by sequential growth from our market-leading power brands as we continue to launch superior innovation, improve our execution across Europe, and continue to drive strong growth in China, India, and our non-seasonal North America business.”
The company also said that if globally commodity prices remain at significantly elevated levels throughout the year, it would anticipate an impact on consumer demand as a result of pressure on household budgets.
