Telangana Cabinet led by A Revanth Reddy has approved a hike in land registration charges citing rising land prices, with exemptions under HILTP
Land registration charges will increase in Telangana soon.
The State Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, on Monday decided to increase the registration charges before May 26, 2026. However, certain categories of registration under the Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy (HILTP) will be exempted, subject to conditions.
The market value of land and registration charges was last hiked by the previous BRS Government in February 2022. The proposed increase was now necessary in view of the subsequent spurt in land prices, the Cabinet felt.
The Cabinet also decided to hand over the report of the commission formed earlier to look into the alleged corruption in the power purchase deals, Bhadradri and Yadadri Thermal Power Projects, during the previous BRS Government to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for further investigation.
