          Nowadays, increasing number of Chinese people are struggling for improving English communication ability, what's the motivation to learn English? Is it neccesary to learn it?

           years, I've been afflicted with such question and consequent casual  poping up pains of balancing between my professional growing and English improving. To be franky and simply, following reasons are listed to prove the important of English and also the motivatin of pursing.

           1. for doing global business

                Since Open-door policy, we began to do business with foreigners,expecially of whom in  western countries,and China became the member of WTO,English obviously became the tool of international communication. Now China is booming,as everyone can feel through the success holding of Beijing 2008 Olympics and Paralympics,there will be tens of thousands of foreigner come to China for global business like Export and Import Business, Internation Conference,International academic communication. Fluent English skills indicate more opportunities to attract foreign investment and show our advantages of traditional culture and plenty of resources.

           2. for cross-culture communication between countries

                cross-culture communication is divided into two aspects: expressing inner of ourself and tasting outside world

                for expressing inner:

                Officials and educators from China and foreign countries have applauded the role of Confucius Institutes, engaged in Chinese culture and language teaching abroad, in enhancing understanding and friendship between peoples of different countries.

                for tasting outer:

                when the film of "prison breach" is showing in American, nearly all the Chinese can have a taste,how ever ,it's a bad experience if we can't understand the voice of origin actor performing.

           3. for expectation of colorful life 

               Through each set of our eyes our life can be perceived and interpreted in different ways.We can read articles written in different countries, watch movies produced in Hollywood or DreamWorks.We can also experiencing Games in Disney.

           4. more realistic, for going aborad and determine my position in software industry which highly depends on cross culture communication which is inversely based on medium English.

              Keep it simple and realistic, we just want to go abroad to futher our study or find a good job.
