Ola-owned Krutrim has quietly pulled the plug on its agentic AI assistant ‘Kruti’. The development comes less than a year after the company launched the chatbot. Kruti let users book taxis, order food, pay bills, generate images, and conduct in-depth research.
Kruti goes dark across the web: The chatbot, launched in June 2025, is no longer accessible on web and app stores. A MediaNama check confirmed that the app was not available on the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. The AI assistant also appears to have been removed from the Ola platform, where it was previously integrated.
Meanwhile, visitors to the website ‘kruti.ai’ see a message that reads: “We’ll be back soon. Kruti AI is currently under maintenance. We’re working on something great and will be back shortly.”

However, Ola and Krutrim have not issued any official statement on the outage.
According to The Economic Times, which reported the development first, the company has also halted the launch of its upcoming large language model (LLM), Krutrim 3. This raises concerns about Ola’s AI roadmap and also highlights weak execution by management in new product launches.
Why this matters: The abrupt shutdown of Kruti adds to the recent string of setbacks at Ola Krutrim. The company conducted multiple rounds of layoffs in 2025, eliminating approximately 200 jobs as part of a restructuring. The layoffs affected several top executives and key personnel on the linguistics team, who were hired to train the AI model. With senior executives leaving the firm in droves, the entire Krutrim 3 project is up in the air.
Furthermore, Krutrim Cloud and other LLM products have failed to gain user traction. According to SensorTower data, the Kruti AI assistant was downloaded by less than 500,000 users worldwide. This raises questions about the company’s AI technology. Is it on par with widely used AI models, including those from Meta, Google, OpenAI, and Anthropic?
