In an interview, when asked about the scope of their new Wolverine game, Mike Daly, the game director, revealed that Insomniac Games didn’t aim to create an open-world or sandbox-style Wolverine game.

Yeah. I can say we did not set out to make an open world game or a sandbox game. What we really wanted was high octane, high intrigue, linear single-player adventure, and the missions reflect that in their structure.

Right from the game development stages, Insomniac Games’ goal was to deliver an adrenaline-fueled linear Wolverine game, as opposed to their approach to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Moreover, Mike Daly mentioned there would be some exploration in the Wolverine game. Players can explore the hidden corners of this world to unlock some optional content and collectibles.

Since Logan is also a globetrotting character in the Marvel Comics, he is not limited to a particular place in the Wolverine game.
