Emilio Azcarraga has the green light to close one of the most significant financial operations in the history of Mexican football.
The National Antimonopoly Commission officially approved the sale of 49 percent of Controladora Deportiva Águilas to the investment fund General Atlantic, a transaction valued at more than200 million dollars.
The operation had already been announced since late 2025 by Grupo Ollamani, although it still depended on regulatory reviews and official approvals to be finalized.

The sale of América and Banorte Stadium has already been authorized
The agreement includes participation in América, Banorte Stadium and the lands adjacent to the World Cup property.
Since December 2025, Grupo Ollamani had communicated the start of the alliance with General Atlantic, but the final authorization from the National Antitrust Commission was still missing.
Now, after several months of review, the operation has finally been approved and can be officially closed.
As part of the business move, the company Controladora Deportiva Águilas S.A.P.I. de C.V. was created, an entity responsible for managing the assets related to the club and the stadium.
Emilio Azcárraga will continue to control América and Estadio Banorte
Although General Atlantic will acquire 49 percent of the new company, Grupo Ollamani will keep the remaining 51 percent and maintain majority control.
Additionally, Emilio Azcárraga Jean will remain as executive president of the Board of Directors of América and Estadio Banorte.
The institution previously assured that the alliance does not modify the club's identity, but rather seeks to boost commercial, technological and sporting growth in the coming years.

América will also work with a company linked to the Patriots
The operation also includes a strategic partnership withKraft Analytics Group, a company linked to the Kraft Group.
The Kraft family owns the New England Patriots, New England Revolution, and Gillette Stadium.
The objective will be to strengthen areas such as data analysis, fan experience, and commercial strategies.
With this approval, América officially begins a new business stage infull preparation heading towards the 2026 World Cup, a tournament for which the Banorte Stadium will be one of the main venues.
