Delta Air Lines has announced new nonstop service from Seattle to Barcelona and Rome alongside the opening of two new premium lounges at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The airline will launch service to Rome four times per week and Barcelona three times per week beginning summer 2026, operating on Airbus A330-900neo aircraft.

Delta has also secured priority access to 18 gates across Concourses A and B at the airport.

“Delta’s commitment runs deep in Seattle, from our people on the ground to our global ambitions in the skies,” said Glen Hauenstein, President of Delta Air Lines.

“With new international service and the opening of our Delta One Lounge, we’re investing in what matters most to our customers—exceptional, premium experiences—and reinforcing our role as Seattle’s largest global carrier,” he said.

The new routes will operate on next-generation aircraft featuring Delta One lie-flat seats with full-height privacy doors and Delta Premium Select with more spacious seating and upgraded dining.

Delta has launched 28 new markets in Seattle over the past decade and now operates nearly 180 peak-day departures to more than 60 global destinations.

“We welcome the opportunity to grow our partnership with Delta as they expand Seattle’s connections to international communities and businesses,” said Port of Seattle Commissioner Fred Felleman.

“Delta’s new international flights to Rome and Barcelona and two new lounges enhance our ability to be a welcoming port,” he said.

The airline is opening two lounges in one connected 24,000-square-foot space situated across from Gate A11, featuring panoramic mountain views.

This marks the fourth Delta One Lounge added to the network in the past year and the third new Delta Sky Club, bringing the total to 57 Delta lounges and clubs.

The Delta One Lounge offers seating for 149 guests inside and 72 seats on a wrap-around terrace with views of Mount Rainier, while the Delta Sky Club seats 183.

“These sophisticated-yet-comfortable spaces reflect Delta’s commitment to delivering experiences customers can look forward to through every step of their journey,” said Claude Roussel, VP of Sky Clubs and Lounge Experience.

“By continuing to invest in key markets and creating bespoke Lounges and Sky Clubs, we are responding to customer demand for the elevated experiences they have come to know, love and expect from Delta at our hubs and beyond,” he said.

Delta One customers flying from Seattle now have access to exclusive concierge-style check-in, with similar experiences offered at Boston, JFK and Los Angeles airports.

Starting June 25, eligible passengers who check in via the Fly Delta app and enrol in TSA PreCheck Touchless ID can access expedited bag drop and security lanes.

The space features design elements inspired by Seattle’s natural beauty, including stone accents, rich wood panelling and emerald, navy and rust colour schemes.

The Delta One Lounge offers a fine-dining experience with an open kitchen featuring locally sourced seafood, including Dungeness crab cannelloni and wood-fired teriyaki steelhead.

Coffee is sourced from Seattle’s Caffe Umbria, while the bar serves cocktails inspired by Seattle destinations and a West Coast-focused wine portfolio.

The Delta Sky Club offers seasonal specialities including clam chowder from Seattle’s Ivar’s and coffee from Starbucks.

The space incorporates sustainable features including smart windows that adjust to sunlight, all-electric energy with motion-sensing lights and reusable dinnerware.

Delta operates 87 per cent electric aircraft in its core fleet and 70 per cent electric ground support equipment at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

The airline employs 2,700 people across Washington state and maintains partnerships with local brands including Starbucks and T-Mobile.

Service to Rome will launch May 6, 2026, while Barcelona service begins May 7, 2026.
