With the deadline closing tonight, industry professionals are being called on to put forward their best people, teams and organisations before it’s too late.

Hosted by Space Connect, the awards recognise the companies, institutions and individuals driving the rapid growth of Australia’s space industry. Submissions have been strong, but organisers say there is still time for last-minute nominations from across the industry.

Winners will be announced at a black-tie gala at the Hyatt Regency Sydney, bringing together the nation’s leading innovators for what is fast becoming the industry’s “night of nights”.

A total of 30 categories are open, spanning 14 individual and 16 company awards. These include Academic Research Team of the Year, Business of the Year – Large, and Launch Business of the Year, alongside honours recognising standout executives, engineers, scientists, technicians and students.

Steve Kuper, Defence & Aerospace Lead at Momentum Media, said the quality of nominations continues to impress.

“Year after year, I am blown away by the calibre of the nominations we receive from across Australia’s burgeoning space industry, and this year is no different,” Kuper said.

The awards are open to any organisation operating in Australia that supports the space sector, including telecommunications, satellite services, energy, mining, transport and defence.

Kuper added that competition has been particularly strong in categories such as Earth Observation, Indigenous Business and Large Business of the Year — but stressed that there is still time to enter.

“We would encourage anyone on the fence about nominating to get their submissions in quickly,” he said.

Organisers say the awards provide a powerful platform to elevate reputations and showcase contributions to Australia’s growing space capability, but with submissions typically taking two to three hours, time is now critical.

The awards also precede the Australian Space Summit & Exhibition, returning to Sydney on 17–18 June, where leaders from government, Defence, industry and academia will gather to shape the future of the sector.

With the clock ticking, organisers are urging anyone making an impact to act immediately.

“This is your chance to be recognised for the outstanding work you, a colleague, or your business do in shaping Australia’s space sector,” Kuper said.

“If you’re shaping Australia’s future in space, now is the time, nominations close today!”
