Names, addresses, phone numbers, and potentially passport details were shared with multiple members of a popular hacking forum.

Exclusive: More than 16k customers compromised after alleged Needlework Tours hack

A member of an underground hacking forum has shared the personal information of more than 16,000 customers of an Australian travel company after an alleged data breach.

The data includes full names, home and email addresses, mobile and home phone numbers, dates of birth, and emergency contact details.

The breached data also potentially includes passport numbers; however, in the sample provided by the hacker – who goes by the online name AckLine – the passport fields are empty.

The data was provided for free; simply responding to the post would allow any member of the forum to access a download link. As of the time of writing, more than a dozen forum members have replied to the original post, with one calling the data a “good share”.

Needlework Tours has not responded to Cyber Daily’s request for comment.

Who is AckLine?

AckLine is a frequent poster on the same forum frequented by the hacker known as 2019, who has targeted several high-profile Australian victims in recent weeks.

AckLine joined the forum – which Cyber Daily will not name – in April, and most frequently acts as an access broker, selling login credentials.

Who is Needlework Tours?

Needlework Tours is a niche travel agency focused on craft-based travel experiences.

The company offers tours abroad, cruises, and a yearly Needlwork Retreat in South Australia each year.

The company is headquartered in North Brighton, Victoria.
