New collaboration aims to help MSPs deliver affordable cyber certification and resilience services through the BarracudaONE platform.

Barracuda Networks has partnered with CyberCert and managed service providers to help small and medium-sized businesses across Australia and New Zealand achieve SMB1001 cyber security certification through the company’s BarracudaONE platform.

SMB1001 is an international cyber security framework designed specifically for smaller organisations, providing a tiered model to assess and demonstrate cyber maturity.

Barracuda said the collaboration is intended to simplify what has traditionally been a complex and resource-intensive compliance process by bundling technical controls, governance requirements and certification pathways into a streamlined offering delivered through MSPs.

“AI has lowered the barrier for cybercriminals to develop and automate advanced cyberattacks at scale,” Dan McLean, country manager for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands at Barracuda, said in a statement.

“With the help of CyberCert we can offer our MSP partners SMB1001 certified product packages that give their customers peace of mind. Not only are their businesses protected, but they also meet the official security standards.”

The partnership is also aimed at reducing implementation complexity and cost for smaller organisations, a longstanding challenge in the SMB space. Through the arrangement, MSPs deploying BarracudaONE can guide customers through certification using CyberCert’s compliance platform, while accessing sponsored certification credits funded by Barracuda to offset onboarding expenses.

CyberCert co-founder and CEO Ryan Ettridge said the partnership reflects growing demand for simpler and more affordable approaches to cyber compliance.

“By combining the broad protection of the BarracudaONE platform with globally accredited SMB1001 certification, MSPs will be able to deliver true cyber resilience for their clients in a simple, cost-effective way,” Ettridge said.
