Kinetic IT launches AI engineering division to accelerate enterprise AI deployment

Kinetic IT has launched a dedicated AI engineering and platforms division and appointed Marcio Sete (pictured) as its inaugural head, as the company expands its focus from AI advisory services to the delivery of production-ready artificial intelligence solutions.

The new business unit, which sits within the Office of the Chief Transformation Officer, is designed to help government agencies and critical infrastructure operators deploy AI in operational environments, with an emphasis on security, governance, and measurable business outcomes.

A key feature of the division is a forward-deployed engineer (FDE) model, which involves senior AI engineers working alongside customer teams to design, build, and implement AI solutions within their organisations rather than providing advice remotely.

Kinetic IT plans to recruit an initial cohort of four forward-deployed engineers to support customers across the aviation, utilities, government, and resources sectors, serving organisations operating at more than 2,600 sites nationwide.

Chief transformation officer Kishore Jayaram said customers were increasingly looking for practical AI deployments rather than experimental projects.

“Organisations want practical outcomes from AI, not more proofs-of-concept,” Jayaram said.

“They are looking for trusted partners who understand their operations and can help deploy AI safely within complex, mission-critical environments.”

He said embedding experienced engineers directly into customer teams would help organisations address operational challenges while maintaining the security, governance, and reliability required in highly regulated sectors.

Sete joins Kinetic IT with experience delivering enterprise AI, data, and platform engineering projects and will be responsible for building the company’s AI engineering capability and leading customer engagements.

“Many organisations already know where AI could create value,” Sete said.

“The challenge isn’t identifying opportunities, it’s turning them into secure, production-ready solutions that work within complex operational environments.”
