It is very important to never be in a swag gap relationship, and luckily for Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade, they never have to worry about that. These two are taking the prize for best dressed couple at the 2026 Met Gala, and it’s no surprise because the pair have been walking (and owning) red carpets since they first got married over a decade ago.

This year’s Met Gala theme is “Costume Art,” highlighting the central role of the dressed body in fashion history. The official dress code is “Fashion is Art,” encouraging guests to treat their outfits as wearable art, referencing sculpture, painting, and 5,000 years of fashion history. Bodies were a big focus this year on the carpet, so we expected to see a ton of sheer looks, and our favorite couple delivered on that part.

Gabrielle wore a brown, sheer Michael Kors gown that featured 170,000 crystals and took 500 hours to complete. She finished off the look with a diamond Tiffany & Co. necklace, with her hair styled in a regal crown-like look.

Her partner-in-crime, D-Wade, wore black pants with a black, sheer shirt and tuxedo-style vest. They leaned into a very muted color-palette, proving that black and brown are very much complimentary colors.

Dwyane and Gabrielle know how to make each other look good. It’s why whenever they’re on a carpet together I can’t help but to swoon. Tonight was no different.

“It's my job to never be in the way,” Dwyane said during an interview with E!: “She's the star. She's the north star when it comes to this carpet thing. So it's my job just to compliment and get out the way.”

Can every man take notes! Gabrielle is the sun and Dwyane is orbiting around her. We can’t wait to see what they’ll wear together on the next carpet.
