Last summer, the internet swirled with rumors that fashion-forward stars like Dua Lipa and Miley Cyrus would make cameos in the highly anticipated sequel to The Devil Wears Prada. While those eventually ended up being debunked, Sydney Sweeney had fans convinced she was providing one of those star-studded cameos in the movie after she was photographed on the New York City set last August.

Now sources have come forward to confirm that, yes, Sydney had a cameo in the movie, but it was reportedly cut entirely. According to Entertainment Weekly, she played herself in a three-minute scene with Emily Blunt, who reprised her role as former Runway magazine assistant-turned-head of Dior’s U.S. operation, Emily Charlton.

In the sequel film, Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway) rejoins Runway as its features editor and reunites with editor-in-chief Miranda Priestly (Meryl Streep) and Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci) as they enlist Emily to help them secure funds to keep the publication running.

Per EW, Sydney “appeared in a scene that expanded upon Emily’s introduction, and saw her at work dressing a celebrity client,” though it was nixed from the movie because it “did not work structurally with the rest of the sequence.”

It’s unclear whether her scenes were removed after she made headlines for her controversial American Eagle ad, which claimed she had “great jeans,” and was largely interpreted as a nod to eugenics.

In January, Sydney told Cosmopolitan, “Those aren’t my values, but I feel like I’ve never needed to correct people who don’t know who I am.”

She added, “It’s definitely not a comfortable thing to have people saying what you believe or think, especially when that doesn’t align with you. It’s been a weird thing having to navigate and digest, because it’s not me. None of it is me. And I’m having to watch it happen. I’m online and I see things, but I’m slowly pulling myself away. It’s definitely gone to a level where it’s just not healthy for me to digest it all.”

At this time, reps for Sydney and Disney have yet to confirm or deny reports. Either way, EW’s source notes that the movie’s team was still “grateful” for Sydney’s participation.
