Govt says no hike
The government has stated that it will not increase petrol and diesel prices after the West Bengal elections on April 29, despite rising crude oil prices and speculation of a price hike. This announcement was made to address panic buying in some areas, particularly Andhra Pradesh, caused by rumours of an impending price increase.
