The Ministry of Labour & Employment on Tuesday launched upgraded versions of the Shram Suvidha Portal (SSP) 2.0 and Samadhan Portal, along with new mobile apps for Android and iOS users, in a major push to modernise labour administration and digital governance in India.

The new digital platforms, developed with technical support from Corporate Infotech Private Limited, are aimed at simplifying labour-related services for workers, employers, contractors, and businesses across the country. The rollout is aligned with the four Labour Codes introduced by the government led by Narendra Modi.

According to the ministry, the platforms have been built on advanced cloud infrastructure hosted on NIC Cloud (NGC 2.0) and can support nearly 55–60 lakh concurrent users. Officials described the initiative as one of the largest technology-driven labour reform measures undertaken in the country, focused on improving transparency, faster service delivery, and ease of doing business.

SSP 2.0 to bring labour services under one platform

The upgraded SSP 2.0 integrates multiple labour-related services, including registration, licensing, inspections, and filing of returns, into a single digital platform. The system has been aligned with the new Labour Codes and connects both central and state-level labour administration processes.

One of the key features is an online registration mechanism for establishments that will function as a common compliance identity under the new labour framework. The portal also simplifies the licensing process under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH & WC) Code, 2020.

Contractors can now apply for project-specific licences online, while businesses operating in multiple states can obtain a Single All India Licence instead of seeking separate approvals from different authorities.

Samadhan Portal to speed up grievance redressal

The upgraded Samadhan Portal has been designed to make grievance redressal faster and more transparent. Workers and stakeholders can file complaints, disputes, claims, and service-related grievances online at any time.

Users will also be able to track the status of their cases in real time through the portal and mobile apps without visiting labour offices physically.

Speaking on the launch, Vinod Kumar, CEO and Managing Director of Corporate Infotech Private Limited, said the portal’s multilingual interface, centralised monitoring system, and automatic allocation of cases to Conciliation Officers are expected to reduce delays in labour dispute resolution.

Focus on cybersecurity and uninterrupted services

The ministry said the new digital ecosystem has been developed with a strong focus on cybersecurity, scalability, and uninterrupted operations. Built using Kubernetes clusters on NIC Cloud, the system includes advanced monitoring and logging mechanisms to ensure smooth functioning even during periods of heavy usage.

Officials said the initiative reflects the government’s broader vision of building a transparent, worker-friendly, and business-friendly labour administration system through technology-driven reforms.
