Mercedes-Benz India recorded 400 bookings for its entry-luxury sedan, the CLA BEV, ahead of its launch on April 24. The born-electric CLA BEV is the German carmaker’s first next generation vehicle based on Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA) in India.

The CLA BEV comes in three trims: CLA 200 Standard Range (Progressive Line), CLA 250+ Long Range (AMG Line) and the top-end CLA 250+ Launch Edition.

Pricing, range and delivery timelines

The CLA 200 Standard Range, priced at Rs 55 lakhs (ex-showroom), offers a WLTP-certified range of 542 kilometres on a single charge. The CLA 250+ Long Range, priced at Rs 59 lakh, comes with an 85.5 kilowatt-hour (kWh) battery pack that gives a claimed range of 792 kilometres. The CLA BEV Launch Edition, priced at Rs 64 lakh, also offers a range of 792 kilometres.

The CLA 250+ Long Range and the CLA 250+ ‘Launch Edition’ use an 800 Volt architecture, adding 400 kms of range in 20 minutes via a 240 kW DC fast charger. The CLA 200 Standard Range adds 320 kms at the same time. The CLA BEV supports up to 320 KW of DC charging.

Deliveries of the CLA 200 Standard Range start from June 2026 whereas deliveries for the CLA 250+ Long Range begin from April-end.

Mercedes-Benz Operating System

The CLA BEV is the first Mercedes-Benz to debut MB.OS in India, Mercedes-Benz’s proprietary operating system. At the core of the CLA BEV is MB.OS, built on the MMA platform. This system supports over-the-air updates, ongoing feature improvements, and an MBUX (AI powered infotainment system) interface that adapts to the driver’s behavior. It’s the first car with MBUX Virtual Assistant which integrates ChatGPT4, Microsoft Bing, Gemini and Google Maps.

The CLA BEV is the first Mercedes-Benz to feature NVIDIA AI Stack with ADAS Level 2 as standard and OTA upgradeable to L2+ having Steering Assist. NVIDIA chips used in vehicles deliver up to 508 trillion operations per second.

Mercedes-Benz introduces ‘High Voltage (HV) Battery Report’

Mercedes-Benz also introduced a ‘High Voltage Battery Report’ to bring clarity, transparency and reassure customers of the vehicle’s battery condition. “The High‑Voltage Battery Report provides an objective overview of the high voltage battery status at the time of vehicle evaluation and supports customer confidence in their BEVs,” the German carmaker said.

This report is expected to offer “peace of mind and worry-free ownership experience” for Mercedes-Benz BEV owners. “This system generated ‘State of Charge Energy (SOCE) Report’ aims to bring transparency. Mercedes-Benz will conduct physical inspection of the High Voltage Batteries with system guidance for accurate results. This initiative will create customer transparency and trust for an informed purchase decision for BEV customers,” it said.

The ‘High Voltage Battery Report’ will be generated by authorized workshops using diagnostic system and includes physical inspection and diagnostic evaluation of high voltage (HV) Battery. For the CLA BEV, Mercedes-Benz is offering a battery warranty of 8 years or 160,000 kilometres.
