Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has outlined an ambitious vision for India's transport future, highlighting nearly ₹2 lakh crore worth of railway projects underway in Maharashtra. Speaking about the transformative impact of high-speed rail, Vaishnaw said the proposed Mumbai-Pune Bullet Train could reduce travel time to just 48 minutes, while Pune to Hyderabad could be covered in only 2 hours and 8 minutes. Using a relatable example, he joked that travelers could enjoy vada pav in Mumbai, spend a full working day in Pune, pick up local delicacies, and still return home the same day. The minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's infrastructure push for driving these changes, saying India is on the verge of a major transportation revolution that will reshape connectivity, business, and economic growth.
