In a stunning first U-turn for the newly formed TVK government, Chief Minister Vijay has revoked the appointment of his personal astrologer, Pandit Ricky Radhan Vettrivel, as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD). The move follows a massive backlash from allies and the opposition over the presence of "cosmic advisors" in the CMO. Vettrivel, a former associate of J Jayalalithaa, has a controversial track record, including failed predictions regarding the DA case and unscientific medical advice. While TVK sources credit him with predicting a "political tsunami," the AIADMK has mocked the move, asking why the astrologer couldn't foresee his own ousting.
