National Testing Agency (NTA) Director General Abhishek Singh has explained the thinking behind restricting access to Telegram channels allegedly linked to fake NEET question papers. Singh acknowledged that some operators may still use VPNs or function from outside India. However, he stressed that the real objective is to cut off their audience. "If there is no clientele, the fraud will be prevented," he said, adding that students would be protected from losing money and wasting precious time chasing fake papers. His remarks shift the focus from completely eliminating such channels to reducing their reach and impact. The message from the NTA chief is clear: awareness and reduced accessibility can be powerful tools in combating exam-related fraud.
