The ongoing West Asia conflict is now directly impacting Indian consumers as CNG prices have been hiked once again, marking the second increase within 48 hours. Following a ₹2 per kg hike earlier, prices have now gone up by another ₹1 per kg, pushing CNG rates in Delhi to ₹80.09 per kg and ₹88.70 in Noida and Ghaziabad. The repeated hikes are expected to increase transportation costs for lakhs of commuters, cab drivers, and commercial vehicle operators. The government attributes the rise to global gas prices, crude oil surge, rupee depreciation, and supply disruptions linked to the West Asia crisis. Meanwhile, the opposition has intensified attacks on the Modi government over rising fuel costs.
