Save up to $220: The Oura Ring 4 is heavily discounted during Amazon Prime Day, with select finishes discounted as high as 44% off.

A smartwatch is great for tracking exercise and daily movement, but it has its limitations. For one, it's uncomfortable to sleep in and noticeable around the wrist. A smart ring, on the other hand, is light, discreet, and easy to use for sleep tracking.

Perhaps the best example of this is the Oura Ring 4, the top smart ring on the market. Not only is it seamless for sleeping, but the insights you get when you sleep help inform everything from how ready you are to take on the day, to whether or not you're getting sick.

Also: I replaced my Apple Watch with the Oura Ring 4 for sleep tracking (and it did some things better)

I've been using the Oura Ring 4 for around two years, and I've recommended it to just about everyone. Heck, I even convinced my mom to get one. The smart ring is getting its price sliced during Amazon's Prime Day, which begins now and goes through June 26, so now is a great time to buy one if you've been considering it.

Unlike a smartwatch that requires daily charging, you'll get a few days in between charges with the Oura Ring 4. The smart ring has up to eight days of battery life, though that heavily depends on the size of ring you buy.

Having access to my sleep and health data through Oura has helped me further understand my health and behavior patterns. Like many other Oura Ring users who have witnessed poor scores after a night out drinking, I can also say the smart ring's data illustrations have steered me toward positive, healthy lifestyle choices. For one, I try to avoid drinking because I can see how it's impacted my sleep. Another feature I love checking throughout the day is daytime stress, which displays my heart rate data on a daily chart. I've gotten to see how my body responds to both the stressful and serene moments of my day through this feature.

But one feature stands out as a reason to buy the ring, and I've used and benefited from this feature time after time. Oura's Symptom Radar feature has proactively told me I've gotten sick, sometimes several days before I feel symptoms, multiple times. And when I do get sick, which happens fairly often, I use Symptom Radar to track my recovery and understand when my body needs more rest. It's an essential feature in my book, especially for those who are immunocompromised or prone to illness.

Also: Oura Ring 5 vs. Oura Ring 4: I compared the smart rings for health tracking - and it's very close

I'd recommend the Oura Ring 4 to people who live active, mostly healthy lifestyles and who want to further understand or fix their sleep. If you are an active person and want to track your exercise with this smart ring, it has its limitations. For one, you shouldn't weightlift while wearing it, so you won't be able to track those workouts. I'd opt for a smartwatch if you're trying to dial in on your race pace or get as accurate of activity data as possible. Oura's activity accuracy is good, for sure, but its specialty is sleep and data illustrations -- not so much activity data.

I've enjoyed most aspects of the smart ring, though I'd be remiss to not mention Oura Ring 4's battery issues. After around a year of wear, Oura customers have experienced significantly decreased battery life. The smart ring is supposed to last around a week, but after daily use over a longer time frame, some people have experienced only a day or two of battery before it needs another charge. The good news is Oura has handled this issue with class, and if you speak with their customer service person through the app you can get your ring replaced in minutes. I can vouch for several of my coworkers and friends doing this and Oura serving them successfully.

Also: Why your Oura Ring battery is dying quicker (and what Oura is doing about it)

I'd recommend the Oura Ring 4 to most people, especially when it's on sale for 44% off. Keep in mind that you'll also have to pay for a $70 annual subscription to unlock all the data insights that make the smart ring so useful.

How I rated this deal

This is the lowest price we've ever seen on the Oura Ring 4, which explains this 5/5 deal rating. I can't say enough good things about Oura as a company and its smart rings, so I'd certainly recommend this to anyone eyeing the Oura Ring.

Amazon's Prime Day event runs Tuesday, June 23 to Friday, June 26, 2026. It's a bit earlier this year, as the deals event normally takes place during the first few weeks of July.
