Looking for a new computer? Save hundreds on these Memorial Day desktop deals
Written by Cesar Cadenas, Staff WriterStaff Writer May 24, 2026 · 2026-05-25 · via Latest news

It is currently Memorial Day weekend, and it is a special time because it has become one of the biggest shopping events of the year. If you've been looking for a new computer, now is the best time to buy, as I have spotted steep discounts on a wide range of PCs. The problem with events like these is that there are so many good options out there that it's hard to sort through them all and pick just one. Should you get a new iMac? What about a discounted Lenovo desktop PC? Those are pretty good, too.

Fortunately, I'm here to help. Here at ZDNET, we review the latest desktops year-round and closely monitor major discounts during major shopping events. To narrow things down for you, I have sifted through many online Memorial Day promotions and rounded up the best desktop deals that I believe are worth your money.

Also, be sure to check out our favorite Memorial Day deals on TVsSSDsApple productslaptopsphones, and outdoor gear.

The best early Memorial Day PC deals

  • Current price: $1,500 (save 21%)
  • Original price: $1,899

Starting off the list is the iMac, a solid piece of Apple tech now sporting the M4 chip. According to the tech giant, this model is "1.3 times faster at handling productivity tasks than the M3, and [is] up to 2.1 times faster than the M1". Whether you're casually browsing the internet or working on a 4K video project, it all feels quick and responsive. It also supports Apple Intelligence, enabling the company's generative AI features, such as automatic proofreading. Each model comes with a 24-inch 4.5K Retina display for crisp and vibrant visuals.

It will be rather difficult to find a new M4 iMac on sale. They rarely do. Luckily, Best Buy has refurbished iMacs on sale in every color.

Dell's 2025 24-inch AiO (all-in-one) computer is a solid midrange machine. The model I am recommending is currently the entry-level configuration, which comes with a 13th-Gen Intel Core i5-1334U processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM for added speed, and a 512GB SSD. A build like this is more geared toward productivity. It is well-suited for casual web browsing, office work, video streaming, school assignments, and more. This PC also comes with a comprehensive selection of ports to support a wide range of accessories.

The Dell 24 AiO should appeal to people who want an alternative to traditional desktop PCs. It doesn't take up a lot of space while still providing enough screen space for work and entertainment.

If a good display is important to you, I'd like to direct your attention to the Lenovo Yoga AiO 32i. As the name suggests, it has a large 32-inch 4K Ultra HD screen with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a peak brightness of 495 nits, and 97% DCI-P3 color gamut coverage. In plain English, all this means that the display is quite nice. Colors practically leap out, and images are shown in crystal clear detail. It also boasts a robust audio system with Harmon Kardon speakers and Dolby Atmos support. Coupled with its high-quality screen, the Yoga AiO 32i is a great desktop for both media streaming as well as work.

Let's shift gears and head into another desktop classification: PC towers. Here we have the HP OmniDesk, a productivity-focused PC designed for people who want strong everyday performance. This configuration runs on an Intel Core Ultra 7 265 processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and a 1TB SSD, making it well-equipped for multitasking. Notable features include Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 support, as well as video output to up to 4 external screens. A standout feature is the dark wood trim across the front panel, giving the machine a unique aesthetic that allows it to naturally blend into home offices.

Lenovo's IdeaCentre Tower 8 is a compact desktop that, like the previous entry, is built for everyday productivity. The biggest difference with the Tower 8 is its size. It measures 3.5 x 11.47 x 13.37 inches and weighs a little over 9 pounds, so finding a space for it should be pretty easy. In fact, customer reviews on Best Buy praise the PC for its compact size and low noise levels.

Inside, this model features an AMD Ryzen 7 2500U processor, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, an integrated AMD Radeon 780M graphics card, plus a spacious 1TB SSD. That combination of hardware gives the Tower 8 enough power to comfortably handle office work and light content creation. Additionally, you'll receive a free keyboard and mouse with purchase.

I couldn't possibly create a roundup of desktop computers without at least one gaming PC. Out of everything I saw online, I think the HP Omen 45L is the best. So what do you get for $2,200? Power.

This desktop runs an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K processor, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card, and 16GB of DDR5-6000 RAM. All these components work together to deliver a high-level gaming experience. It boasts enough power to run games at their highest resolution possible and handle heavy creative workloads. Inside the machine is a liquid-cooled radiator that draws in cool air from outside, helping keep the internal hardware cool during heavy gaming sessions.

When is Memorial Day?

Memorial Day always falls on the last Monday of May. This year, that's Monday, May 25. However, you can expect deals leading up to and during the long weekend since it's a federal holiday.

How did we choose these Memorial Day deals?

ZDNET only writes about deals that capture our own interest -- devices and products we want, need, or would recommend not only to our readers, but to friends and family. Our experts look for deals at least 20% off (or hardly ever on sale), using established price-comparison tools and trackers to determine whether the deal is actually worth your time.

We also examine customer reviews and draw on our hands-on experience with new tech to understand what matters to real people who already own and use the products we're recommending. The goal is to deliver the most accurate advice and to alert you to price drops so you can shop smarter.
