FortiSASE Training Builds Skills for Secure Access Succes...
Tzie Hui Ee · 2026-06-24 · via Fortinet All Blogs

As organizations grow their hybrid workforces, expand their distributed locations, and increasingly rely on cloud applications, ensuring consistent, secure access to and from critical resources has become more complex. Today’s users require reliable access from any location, while IT and security teams need centralized oversight, policy management, and improved operational efficiency to monitor and manage workflows end to end.

This blog highlights the experiences of customers and partners who have completed Fortinet FortiSASE training and are now applying that knowledge to enhance secure access modernization, support large-scale deployments, and manage daily operations. Their feedback shows that practical, hands-on training enables teams to transition from secure access service edge (SASE) strategy to implementation with greater confidence.

SASE enables organizations to meet modern access requirements by converging networking, connectivity, and security capabilities into a unified, cloud-delivered architecture. However, successful SASE adoption requires more than technology. It also requires teams with the knowledge and hands-on skills to design, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot secure access environments.

Fortinet’s FortiSASE Core and FortiSASE Enterprise training programs are designed to help customers and partners develop this expertise. Through practical instruction, configuration exercises, and hands-on labs, participants learn to use FortiSASE features in real-world secure access scenarios, including zero-trust network access (ZTNA), secure remote access, endpoint control, cloud-based security, centralized policy management, and troubleshooting.

Customer Perspective: Central Finance Company PLC

Thilina J Hewawasam, Manager, IT Infrastructure and Operations, Central Finance Company PLC

What business and security priorities led you to enroll in FortiSASE Core and FortiSASE Enterprise training?

As part of my role managing IT infrastructure and security operations, I am actively strengthening our secure access architecture and moving toward a SASE-based security model. This motivated me to enroll in the FortiSASE Core and FortiSASE Enterprise training to deepen my understanding of Fortinet’s SASE framework, its architecture, and best practices for implementing secure remote access, zero-trust network access, and cloud-delivered security services.

The training was also valuable in helping align our organization’s security strategy with modern hybrid workforce requirements.

Which parts of the training were most relevant to your day-to-day responsibilities?

The most valuable part of the training was the hands-on labs and practical configuration scenarios. These sessions provided real-world operational insight into how FortiSASE integrates with identity providers, endpoint security, and network policies.

Understanding how to configure access policies, secure web gateway controls, and ZTNA-based access on the FortiSASE platform was particularly useful because it directly applies to real-world deployment and troubleshooting scenarios.

How will the skills you gained help strengthen your organization’s secure access strategy?

The training provided strong practical knowledge of SASE architecture, FortiSASE policy configuration, secure remote access design, and integration with existing security infrastructure. I gained a clearer understanding of how to design and manage a cloud-delivered security framework that protects users regardless of location.

This knowledge will help our organization enhance secure connectivity for remote and branch users, strengthen our security posture, and optimize centralized security management with Fortinet technologies.

Partner Perspective: Sri Lanka Telecom PLC

Udara Mendis, Engineer, Enterprise Digital Solutions, Sri Lanka Telecom PLC

Why was FortiSASE training important for your solution and operations teams?

We are currently implementing a large-scale FortiSASE deployment for a local customer. To help ensure a smooth rollout, our team needed deeper knowledge of the solution. Both the FortiSASE Core and FortiSASE Enterprise Administrator training sessions were important for our solution and operations teams.

Which training topics provided the most value for your current deployment effort?

The Endpoint Management section was especially valuable. Other sections were also useful, but because our team already manages SD-WAN solutions and firewalls, we already have strong skills and knowledge in those areas. The SASE EMS component was relatively new to us, so that portion of the training was also particularly helpful.

What new knowledge will help you better support customer implementations?

Understanding the integration of FortiSASE with FortiManager and FortiAuthenticator, particularly for management and single sign-on, was essential. The troubleshooting tools provided with FortiSASE were quite useful.

We especially appreciate the support we received during the three-day FortiSASE Core and FortiSASE Enterprise Administrator training. The environment helped us stay focused and fully engaged throughout the training, all within a very comfortable and well-organized corporate setting.

Partner Perspective: Sri Lanka Telecom PLC

Nuwan Dinusha Pathirana, NOC Engineer, Sri Lanka Telecom PLC

What prompted you to develop deeper hands-on knowledge of FortiSASE?

As a NOC engineer preparing to work directly with FortiSASE, I wanted to deepen my knowledge and gain hands-on experience with the solution. Because SASE is becoming an important part of modern secure network architecture, I felt it was essential to build a strong foundation in both the Core and Enterprise components to support operations more effectively.

Which FortiSASE capabilities stood out as most useful for NOC operations?

The security features and endpoint control capabilities were especially valuable. The integration of FortiSASE with secure access, endpoint visibility, and policy enforcement into a unified platform gave me a clearer understanding of how centralized control can enhance both security and operational efficiency.

The structured explanation of features and real-world scenarios also made the concepts easier to relate to daily NOC operations.

How will this training help you support customers and day-to-day operations?

The entire SASE lifecycle was a significant learning experience for me. Understanding the architecture, deployment models, policy management, integration, and troubleshooting gave me a broader view of how SASE operates end to end.

This knowledge will enable me to better support customers, proactively identify issues, and help organizations develop stronger, more secure SASE environments that meet their evolving networking needs.

I sincerely appreciate the support and hospitality extended during the three-day training program. The professional yet welcoming environment helped me stay focused and engaged throughout. Thank you to the entire Training Center team for their excellent coordination and support.

Turning SASE Strategy into Action

These customer and partner experiences illustrate how FortiSASE training equips organizations with the practical skills essential for successful SASE adoption. Participants acquired hands-on knowledge in areas such as SASE architecture, secure remote access, ZTNA, endpoint control, centralized policy management, integration, and troubleshooting.

FortiSASE training helps teams:

  • Strengthen secure remote access and ZTNA strategies
  • Build practical skills for deploying and configuring FortiSASE
  • Improve endpoint visibility, control, and policy enforcement
  • Integrate FortiSASE with identity providers, FortiManager, and FortiAuthenticator
  • Support more effective troubleshooting and day-to-day operations
  • Improve readiness for hybrid work, branch connectivity, and cloud-delivered security

As organizations continue to refine their secure access, they need teams with the skills to operationalize SASE. FortiSASE Core and FortiSASE Enterprise training deliver a practical foundation for customers and partners to deploy, manage, and support secure access in today’s distributed environments.
