The irony of electronic music is that it sounds more futuristic the more primitive it gets. Stuff like this and Kraftwerk still "feel" like the future while a contemporary EDM track would just feel like normal radio music days.
Hey! You made it! I just got back from my lunch break.

Evil David Bowie tries to take over a post apocalyptic world of animal people, by summoning a demon using a vocalist and his own musical performance. Also humans are all gone. It's interesting how it had to be remade almost from scratch after the film reels were burnt. Swear the movie is almost cursed.
Plus, evil David Bowie had Iggy Pop and Lou Reed as his singing voices.
And also, the film got re-edited and partially redubbed when it went from Canada to the US. And the US edit is available in high quality while the original is apparently only viewable as a glorified VHS rip. Film is definitely cursed
I don't recall much of this type of stuff in '87. This is more late '70s up to maybe like '83 or so. I recall '87 being more hip-hop, and grungy and college rock. But I suppose a few things like this might have leaked out.
You better believe Andrei Rodionov & Boris Tikhomirov are coming up shortly

Hey, just wanted to pop in and say your show is consistently great, really one of my favorites! Thanks for playing cool and weird music!
This week's show started as a new wave episode and has gradually morphed into what late '80s pop would have been if Miss Mei were in charge of the charts.
Listener comments!
