Hi! Coming to you today from the Drury Inn Florence, KY. We had planned a Reds game this afternoon but chickened out. It's in the 50s with strong winds. Went to Half-Price Books and a record store instead.
Went to Omega last fall and got a few things. We skipped some ot the museum due to sore feet and are making a second trip. Also will take advantage of the legal dispensaries.

Song:
"Mr. Limousine Driver" by "Grand Funk Railroad"
""You kids don't know Grand Funk? The wild shirtless lyrics of Mark Farner? The bong-rattling bass of Mel Schacher? The competent drumwork of Don Brewer? Oh, man!""
I have seen it quite a few times, and maybe because I am from the West Coast (or back when I smoked) found it very funny, and a nice take on Siddhartha (a book I found so-so)
It's hard for me to watch an entire movie anymore. I seem to always have something processing or doing something in the background. My attention span has diminished with age. I go days and even weeks sometimes without turning on the TV.
It goes on when my GF is visiting...and goes back off when she leaves and sits idle until the next time she comes over. There's just nothing I want to watch, except when football season is going on.
In the liner notes to one of their boxsets, the band stated that they feel their manager at the time was at least partially to blame for that. The manager suggested that the band should do very few interviews and public events outside of concerts in order to build up a sense of mystique for the band. The band later stated that they're pretty sure the real reason was that the manager wanted to gain leverage and push himself as the pubic face of the band. It worked out too, as some critics apparently thought (or at least suspected) that Grand Funk Railroad was a manufactured band put together by a label or manager, which, especially during those days, would kill any critical interest in your band.
I had SC season tiks for years, at the Colesium, I had to give them up when we moved 3000 miles away, and The Raiders suck, so no need for a TV. It was fun back in the day, but to many books and records to spin. And of course WFMU.
I was about to mention that! I just bought the album a few months back to hear what one of his non-Reed/Cooper efforts sounded like. I still don't own any Frost though.
A friend of mine who is a former LA resident told me when the Olympics in town everyone stays home so moving around city neighborhood streets was the easiest he saw the whole time he lived there.
I used to follow the Twins sometimes since I went to school up there. Brewers sometimes, too. Never Cleveland, though..they were the Tig's mortal enemies!

I will take up a hockey game now and then, but prices suck......and forgot trying to see a football game. Last I saw, parking was $70...... about the same as two beers 😭
Every year for the 4th of July, the GF and I go to a Lansing Lugnuts game (minor league, farm team for the Padres) because they shoot off fireworks at the part and you can see the ones the city shoots off from the park as well, so you get two for one on the fireworks and you don't have to change locations. They're not a great team but it's still fun.
There's a surprisingly large amount of minor league hockey in South Carolina, given that it's really not much of a hockey state. There's two ECHL teams and one FPHL team in-state, and then an AHL team in Charlotte, and two more ECHL teams right on the George border in Augusta and Savannah.
Nice! I've only been to AHL games up in Rochester. I never made it to Bridgeport for Isles farm team action and they're moving up to Hamilton next season./
We have 2 WHL teams, the Everett Silvertips who are doing very well and the Seattle Thunderbirds who are not doing as well. Love going to the games though!
According to recent reports the women's league is expanding next year, but the details are being ironed out still. They'll be adding 2 to 4 teams. They're trying to strike while the iron is hot while being careful not to overextend too early, but apparently there's a deeper than usual draft class coming up, so they may go all in on the expansion.
Yeah, the lot where the hockey arena was also where the old Met Stadium was and that's where the Twins and Vikings used to play before they built the Humphrey Dome downtown.
