i was acquainted with a gelding (i'd be angry too) that was so mean he almost never got rode - which probably made him meaner.
i knew a mare who was mean, but manageable by her 2 owners. she'd won blue ribbon in the annual show at those stables and the 3rd was in a few days, and she strained a muscle or something. (if they don't win 3 years in a row, they don't get to keep the trophy)
i carefully, without getting behind her, massaged her legs and back, 3 days before the event...and she won!
i never pick it up if i don't recognise it, and only listen to my voicemails once/week or 2. this caused me to miss a call from the library that my book was in. but i stopped in there for tax forms 2 days ago and asked about the book, and he pulled it out of a bin of books being sent back within the hour!

Sometimes I will leave a voicemail at a business, if I can't text. But this Monday, I had a question for a doctor's office about a bill. I got one of those messages: If you don't want to wait, leave your number and we'll call you back. I did. They called me back today, two days later.

on monday, the gate guard at my parents' neighborhood wouldn't let me in even w/ my id, as they had a new computer DB and i wasn't in it (and she didn't recognize me. i went through the woods and got into my house. she called the sheriff and said i was 'intoxicated' as i was walking w/ a limp. the sherriff was on the property for until after 3am, and shone a blinking spotlight beacon into the house the whole time. i hid in a closet and finally called my brother who called them off.
