Cal Zone!: Its an interesting phenomena, that the fake Exotica music would push forward some actual world music to the general public on the backs of the cheapest budget labels who wanted in on the Tiki action, but couldn't afford to hire a band, They just found stuff ♥ 10:31pm

True, as a kid I got a record subtitled "Drums Galore playing hypnotic rhythms" because I had started to play drums in elementary school band. Turned out it was a South African chorus with minimal hand clapping and hand percussion. Not what my parents expected. My brothers and I listened to it on repeat to see if we would get hypnotized. We loved it and it probably was formative in making us into music explorers. ♥ 10:47pm
