We had Heart booked to play the Univ arena - Head East was the opener - Heart cancelled a sold out show ( one of the sisters were 'ill' -questionable) but the poor HE guys were all set to hit the stage in their glam outfits and just wandered backstage looking lost... what a nite.
We flew to Chicago from NJ to see Shane MacGowan & the Pogues but they never made it, stopped by customs. There must be some great stories about no-show bands.
Fillmore seating, so were at gates 6 AM. Canned music till 11 and then we saw Dickie Betts Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Heart, Foreigner, Marshall Tucker and more with fireworks at end
I think they readily admit they’re almost a tribute band

@TheDerek (et all): re prefab sprout: this 2nd album ‘Steve McQueen’ (aka ‘two wheels good’ in USA) was the gateway album for me (immediate 🤩 wow). the sound & production on that album is great (Thomas Dolby). Yet i was delighted to roll-back to their fantastic 1st album ‘swoon’ (1984). Admittedly, I am a fan-geek, so to me there are no iffy albums, yet try going in sequence of release. Some are more ‘florid’ than others. I enjoy the slightly stripped down ‘Protest Songs’ album. Random note: don’t sleep on the Mark Hollis solo album (singer from band ‘talk talk’).

Stu, in the old days, I had hoped to keep Drop In slot for myself. When Bunny was following Drop In, he charged a measly rate. THEN Stu moved in and the rate doubled, but when Scott from Boston and Snayle moved in, it immediately raised the rent, and even with trump extending my period to pay by 3 weeks, I just cant afford the dues, so one week only for me now!
