i've got a subaru outback lined up (an older one...boxy, more reasonably-sized than the crap they've become). some friends are rebuilding the motor - which, of course. it's a subaru! needing a new motor is standard! gonna be around 3k. i might not go for it. but it's a stick, which i require, and it's the right size. but unfortunately "all wheel drive".
we'll see.
i still haven't paid the full $1200 to another friend for the prius i've been driving for a year and a 1/2. i'll resell it for the same 1200 when i get a car i enjoy driving.

It was a great first car. I got a lot of good use out of it. One problem was that it leaked coolant. It would overheat if I was stuck in traffic, generally when I was running late for work (often.). ♥ 5:35pm

my first car was a '71 volvo 242. every body panel, door, and the roof, was dented! the grill was 1/2 mia, all lenses were cracked and there were electrical problems. 214k (?).

"okay i'll take it.
the electrical problems were easy.
i removed the 1/2 a grill; pushed the roof out from the inside.
new battery.

the toyota hybrids are excellent.
the prius drives fine. handles wonderfully, holds the road, great with icy/snowy, wet weather, has great pickup, is comfortable... but i want a stick.
