A Crothers to Tristano connection? Did not know about that but can hear that. And looking at her Wikipedia page see she was very involved with his work.

Song:
"6" by "Agnès Palier et Olivier Toulemonde"
Do we know what instruments, objects, voices are being used for this piece?
♥
:
Ah, perhaps only voice, wow
🦚

:
As a journalist, was your work delivered as writing or did you do audio or video reporting?
🦚
♥
:
So, as a TV journalist, you were using your voice, conscious about communicating with your voice.
🦚
♥
:
Kyoko, you are really fascinating! But Garfield…😆

Olleh @3:30
Plotosus is a genus of eeltail catfishes
♥
:
↳
Dave Sewelson @3:30
(plotosus is the catfish itself. the phenomenon (sp?) of birds and fish functioning as one must have a name though...)
🦚
♥
:
From wikipedia: Juveniles of Plotosus species often form dense aggregations; in P. lineatus juveniles form dense ball-shaped schools of about 100 fish, while adults are solitary or occur in smaller groups of around 20

Song:
"Broken Music Box Remix" by "Kyoko Kitamura"
Kitamura meets Sade? LOL. or rather AI AI AI
🦚
♥
:
The labels get paid, major pop stars might, like Spotify x1000
🦚
♥
:
Fascinating. Bandcamp has been clamping down on AI production. Oh man, I need to split. But I am gobsmacked by Kyoko and this wonderful installment. Thanks!
♥
:
"interesting"...yes.
"fowl" would be another word for it.
🦚
♥
:
Amazing how primitive (but cute) in 2023 and how much changed in just 3 years. BARF!
♥
:
This stuff is wild…..i am a primate, not machine, I’d like to reiterate!
:
This is a very interesting discussion. I’ve been experimenting with AI as a writing tool. Even wrote a novel with it. You can check out my stuff here: newporteuropa.com
🦚
♥
:
I agree it is best to know it as a tool. Society needs to be vigilant to the tech companies rights appropriation.

thanks for the link

:
that's the kind of dreck that i hear over and over at my 2nd job, at a retail store. i assumed it was "ai" produced or at least "ai" composed but apparently, devoid of creativity humans have been making this crap for at least 20 years... recycling everything that made the entertainment industrial complex money in the past, often mixing stolen components together...3 or 4 "hit" songs mixed together...why i assumed it's "ai" but i'm not sure.
i just wish - as much as i loathe america's lawsuit culture - all these people would get sued and all profits taken from them.

occasionally someone -like my niece will say "i want you to hear this song but it's really long..." i say go for it; she warns me "it's really really long...like 6 minutes!"
!!

Thank you! Kyoko! Wonderful program you brought to us. Your students are very fortunate to have you.
Thank you, Dave, for keeping it going on WFMU and keeping it real.

coelacanth∅ @4:40
Haha I remember a little piece somewhere about “long” songs that are actually under six minutes or something (maybe mojo, or soy magazine)- like Bohmeian Rhapsody and Stairway
