Hi BPN! 5:05pm↳ Gina Bacon @5:04
You too, Gina! 5:06pm↳ Song: "In Tall Buildings" by "Jamie Hartford & Nanci Gri...
Nice (chord progression of paul Simon's America and Mr Bojangles, gets lots of use). Jamie Hartford is John's son (had to Google it). 5:06pm↳ Zrp @5:05
Hi, Zrp!↳ doctorjazz @5:06
I should have mentioned that! Yes, a lovely chord progression and you know I love a waltz!↳ LydiaManuel @5:07
Happy Saturday, Lydia!↳ LydiaManuel @5:07
Hi, Lydia!↳ doctorjazz @5:11
I hope you're drinking water!↳ Gina Bacon @5:12
Drink as I bike (use one of those backpack water hydration packs), and have had some since I got back. Just getting old...↳ LydiaManuel @5:12
Hi LydiaManuel!↳ doctorjazz @5:14
It's always harder in the heat too. I don't tolerate it like I used to!↳ Song: "Shenandoah (Unissued Alternate Version)" by "Jerr...
Such a great pair of players! (saw Grisman once not too long ago), aside from playing a fine set, between tunes he talked a ton about Garcia, high point in his career).↳ doctorjazz @5:15
I'm so glad he's still out there! I've seen him with his son, Sam, who's carrying on the tradition!↳ Gina Bacon @5:15
Yeah, 90 degrees didn't used to phase me, nor did steep hills, someone made the hills steeper and the heat hotter, not fair!!!↳ Gina Bacon @5:16
Sam was in his band when I saw him on bass, if I remember correctly.↳ doctorjazz @5:16
It really isn't!↳ doctorjazz @5:16
😂😂😂↳ Song: "Grapefruit Moon" by "Luella"
Cool Tom Waits cover (from one of his early albums, which I love)!↳ doctorjazz @5:26
I love that one, too. 🥁 ♥ 5:27pm↳ Eargasm! @5:27

He doesn't mince words here. Great song!↳ Dan S @5:43
He does not! Hahaha↳ Dan S @5:43
This guy doesn't either!↳ Gina Bacon @5:45
Very true, and he's one of my favorite new singer-songwriters!↳ Dan S @5:48
Mine too. 5:53pm↳ Eargasm! @5:27
Eargasm!!↳ Song: "Carefree Highway" by "Jack Schneider"
Jack does Gordon Lightfoot proud with this version.↳ LydiaManuel @5:53
He really does! 🥁 ♥ 5:53pm↳ LydiaManuel @5:53
I agree.↳ Song: "Carefree Highway" by "Jack Schneider"
Such a nice cover....↳ Zrp @5:54
Glad you like it!↳ LydiaManuel @5:53
Also agree. It's a fine cover.↳ LydiaManuel @5:55
I agree, and I think a lot of folks wrote Gordon Lightfoot off. I'm glad a new generation is discovering his songwriting! 5:57pm↳ Gina Bacon @5:54

You`re welcome, Gina! 5:59pm↳ Gina Bacon @5:58

Hey, dB! JP is a pal of mine, too! I met him way back in my NYC days (:↳ Song: "Stranger" by "JP Olsen"
Very Deep, Vinyl ?↳ Zrp @6:06
I don't think so. Bandcamp, currently!↳ Zrp @6:07
Try yard sales.↳ Zrp @6:07
Should be in a local record store.↳ Andrew in Toronto @6:10
I live in Lower Alabama NOW, guess what sort of crap they listen to. I have 3 record stores close, but I buy 99% on Discogs. I miss living in San Pedro, Cali! 6:13pm↳ dB @6:13
I will, dB!↳ Zrp @6:07
Sending good vibes that you find one in good condition. I found an inexpensive copy on Ebay, after I lost so much vinyl during the Nashville flood.↳ dB @6:14
Thank you, and thanks for being here! 6:16pm↳ Gina Bacon @6:14
Marco needs a newsleeter.↳ LydiaManuel @6:14
So sorry to hear that, Lydia. That happened to me in NY ): 🥁 ♥ 6:17pm↳ LydiaManuel @6:14
I will, I know what I am looking for. I have been collecting - Hmmm, I am 65 so I started collecting when I was 9. LOL, Trying to get my collection up on Discogs... Maybe 1/2↳ Zrp @6:17
1/2 up↳ Eargasm! @6:17
Same, Eargasm! Great guy. I saw that he played the WXNA event!↳ Gina Bacon @6:16
Heartbreaking. So many great albums, curated from decades before. Still replacing them. However, I know how fortunate I was - so many others lost so much more. 🥁 ♥ 6:18pm↳ LydiaManuel @6:14
Ugh. I raced that storm all the way back from an Alabama record show. I couldn’t believe how bad it was when I got back to Nashville that day.↳ LydiaManuel @6:18
That's very true.↳ Gina Bacon @6:18
Very sad that you can relate. I can only imagine YOUR collection! 🥁 ♥ 6:19pm↳ Gina Bacon @6:17
He put a band together to play the first Ramones album in its entirety.↳ Eargasm! @6:18
Right? It was shocking how much water we got in such a short time!↳ Eargasm! @6:19
Amazing! Sorry I missed that! 🥁 ♥ 6:21pm↳ LydiaManuel @6:20

It was Sandy that got me, too.↳ doctorjazz @6:22
So sad, even though we know it's just "stuff". I literally had just moved in the day before, and everything except the bare necessities were in the lower level. By the time I realized what was happening, it was too late.↳ Song: "Lydia’s Boots" by "Aaron Lee Tasjan"
ALT gets five stars for using my name alone! :) Such a rarity!↳ LydiaManuel @6:18
Back in LA we have a DJ on KXLU, Stella! the backbone of KXLU... and she had no clue that her (one of the greatest punk/alt.everything 7" 45 collection) had a water pipe behind it. It Burst... Thank Goodnees a mass army with towels arrived to dry and whatever needed to be done. Here I am 3000 miles away... They savd alot!↳ LydiaManuel @6:24
Yes! How nice to have your name in an ALT song! (:↳ Zrp @6:25
Oh man, so glad she had such a great team helping her! Hooray for saving the music!↳ Zrp @6:17
Earlier than I started (around 12 for me). Good idea to put everything in a database (basically putting them on Discogs is doing that). I should catalog my LPs, rip all the CDs to some hard drive or NAS (I actually did put together a database 30 years ago, but it got corrupted, don't think I'll do it again, useful as it would be). 🥁 ♥ 6:27pm↳ LydiaManuel @6:23
What part of Nashville did you live in? I hate hearing those stories. I lived in a basement apartment that had a flooding issue when I was still in the Boston area. Fortunately my records were unscathed but I lost a lot of other things.↳ Zrp @6:25
Wow, so lucky! 6:27pm↳ Gina Bacon @6:26

You got it!↳ Eargasm! @6:27
Back then I was in a temporary home base located north of Nashville. Our neighborhood got hit hard, but was relatively lucky with no huge losses of homes, or lives, just stuff.↳ LydiaManuel @6:23
Yeah, it's just stuff, and I'm coming to the conclusion I actually could never listen to all this stuff anyway, it's more like a library at this point...↳ doctorjazz @6:26
Thats why I try to put a few on my Discogs collection so Diane knows what it is worth. I have made sure she contacts a local record store owner that I trust, when I pass.My Collection that needs a ton more added...
↳ Song: "Moonflower" by "Devon Gilfillian"
Devon's voice is dreamy - smooth, soft, and soothing. What a gift he has.↳ Zrp @6:31
At least they have some worth... I am scared my book collection will go into a landfill.↳ doctorjazz @6:30
Exactly!↳ Zrp @6:33
I lost my books, too. That broke my heart. 🥁 ♥ 6:36pm↳ Zrp @6:33
They have some worth NOW-when CDs came on the scene, LPs lost value, that could happen again if the youngins decide they are no longer interested in the vinyls. But it's a good idea to have it all listed and valued (maybe I can find a college kid to do it for me...)↳ Eargasm! @6:36
I can hear that, now that you say it!↳ doctorjazz @6:36
My merch selling friends are selling lots of both on the road!↳ Gina Bacon @6:35
Same. Honestly, I am like you, I think that was equally as heartbreaking, if not more so. So many boxes of books lost. Although I lucked out that the boxes with my favorites, somehow had mistakenly been unloaded into the kitchen.↳ doctorjazz @6:36
The plural of vinyl is vinyl - Sorry that drives me crazy. :) 6:41pm↳ Zrp @6:40
You are right. 🥁 ♥ 6:41pm↳ doctorjazz @6:36
The rare stuff will always be rare. Especially the records that much have decades of collectible provenance. The hot new pressings designed for making people purchase multiple ‘collectible’ items will not retain value when the young ‘uns lose interest.↳ Zrp @6:40
I know that-I was (obviously unsuccessfully) making fun of the youngins way of saying it...↳ LydiaManuel @6:39
That is lucky, indeed! 6:44pm↳ Gina Bacon @6:43
