Back in LA we have a DJ on KXLU, Stella! the backbone of KXLU... and she had no clue that her (one of the greatest punk/alt.everything 7" 45 collection) had a water pipe behind it. It Burst... Earlier than I started (around 12 for me). Good idea to put everything in a database (basically putting them on Discogs is doing that). I should catalog my LPs, rip all the CDs to some hard drive or NAS (I actually did put together a database 30 years ago, but it got corrupted, don't think I'll do it again, useful as it would be).   🥁 ♥ 6:27pm

They have some worth NOW-when CDs came on the scene, LPs lost value, that could happen again if the youngins decide they are no longer interested in the vinyls. But it's a good idea to have it all listed and valued (maybe I can find a college kid to do it for me...) ♥ 6:37pm

The rare stuff will always be rare. Especially the records that much have decades of collectible provenance. The hot new pressings designed for making people purchase multiple ‘collectible’ items will not retain value when the young ‘uns lose interest. 🥁 ♥ 6:41pm
