There was a loose idea there that our technologies and media we create are societally forging our own chains in relation to this McLuhan piece
Avatar 6:39pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ Song: "The Medium Is The Massage: With Marshall McLuhan"...

This is my yearly broadcasting of this art piece. I feel it’s very important and chalk full of ideas that need to be updated

Avatar 7:32pm

The cover album in question, lol
Avatar 7:41pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ MHLee @7:34

"The Best Of Louie, Louie - The Greatest Renditions of Rock's #1 All Time Song" From Rhino Records is the one I thought I pulled that Beau song
Avatar 7:44pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ Mr Moistache @7:41

That record has Rice University Marching Owl Band, The Sonics, Black Flag, and The Impossibles and a few others on it
Avatar 7:45pm
Mr Moistache: I apologize but I try to refrain from looking stuff up because I've made too many mistakes and accidental key strokes in the past
Avatar 7:49pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ Song: "Wildly Remote" by "MEMORIALS"

These little weird sounds are just so fantastic!
Avatar 7:49pm
Mr Moistache: the album is littered with stuff like that
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:15pm
MHLee: I am back after recording for tomorrow
Avatar 8:15pm

Avatar 8:22pm
Mr Fab: That eye-popping green is back! Hey, Mr M i’ve been listening to you on and off as I drive around doing stuff, so I haven’t seen the chat till now. That maximum joy song gave me exactly that. Great to have you back.
Avatar 8:23pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ Mr Fab @8:22

Happy to help when I can! Thanks for letting me be your passenger!
looks like I'll have to queue that up
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:24pm
MHLee:

↳ Song: "The Passenger" by "Iggy Pop"

This is such a good riff
Avatar 8:25pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ MHLee @8:24

I can't believe I got it queued in time!
One of the best in all of rock music.
Avatar 8:30pm
Mr Fab: When you were playing “the medium is the massage“ earlier, I was against struck by how influential it was to negativland. I know they said they were inspired by it, but listening to it I realize they’ve pretty much based their whole career on that album.
Avatar 8:33pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ Mr Fab @8:30

oh for sure! It has influenced a lot of how I understand the world. The funny thing is without Negativeland I might not know about that album
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:37pm

↳ Song: "X-Ray Style" by "Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros"

Never heard this
Avatar 8:37pm

Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:40pm
MHLee:

↳ Song: "The Orchids" by "Psychic TV"

I don;t understand how I find psychic tv so beautiful
Avatar 8:41pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ MHLee @8:40

Is that an Oboe? If so I think that is a big part of it
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:42pm
MHLee: it's weird how delicate psychic tv can be vocally as well
Avatar 8:46pm
Mr Moistache:

↳ MHLee @8:42

I think that is indicative of who Genesis P. Orridge was
Avatar 8:47pm
Mr Moistache: There was certainly a harder side to them but over all i think they were very tender as a human
Avatar 8:54pm
Mr Fab: I wasn’t too impressed with most of Throbbing Gristle. They seemed to try too hard to be shocking! and outrageous! So I didn’t take them too seriously. Imagine my surprise when that psychic TV album came out with “the orchids.” I was, as our British friends say, gobsmacked. So gorgeous.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:54pm
WR: thanks for the tunes tonight. Have been busy doing laundry, getting dinner ready, etc. so not on the playlist much.

Time to eat.

Thanks, again.

Avatar 8:56pm
