Off to see Bitchin Bajas in a couple ours here in Prague woaaaah

At WFMU, doing fill-ins can get you on the air more frequently than having a regular timeslot. :)
Anyway, it's nice to hear from you again, saltzshaker.

Hi Saltzshaker and All! Loving the show. This man’s story is reminding me of Errol Flynn’s autobiograpny, which is really good, well-written. He lived in New Guinea for a while

Hello. I had such a nice time yesterday I've come back for another go 😁
♥
:
Hi Saltzshaker and boggins!
:
a trip to the south sounds like fun. I took a bus with a friend down to Biloxi once, from Chicago, for a long weekend. It was a good time, mostly. The bus ride back was tough

Heading to the very brackish Sandy Hook Bay and listening on the way

Marie de Chicago @1:00
There’s a bunch of places I’d like to visit, by train. I’d enjoy the ride very much, but then I’d lose like a day or 2..decisions.
♥
:
SALTZSHAKER! What a pleasant peaty surprise. BOG ON, EVERYBODY!

Speaking of kids and nature, Seamus Heaney wrote a great poem called “Death of a Naturalist"

Marie de Chicago @2:19
Seamus Heaney, truly poet laureate of the bog. So beautiful.

Yeah! I was just re-reading it on that site. Wonderful..!

really kind of funny at the end (and very evocative)

It has been so wet and rainy in the SW of Ireland that nobody has done any work yet in the bogs ... impossible ... tractors cannot even veture into the regular fields to spread slurry or seed or nitrates ... and still too cold and wet to set potatoes though the seed spuds are sprouting in the sheds ... getting to critical mass ...
:
egg punk comes from a mystic inane song!
:
eggs onna plate, and then the infamous egg vs chain punk meme
:
778 got it

So we should go listen to this, and all will be revealed?

Saltzshaker,
You probably already know about this, but just in case I just saw info about a marshy radio broadcast (The Wetland Project) on a bunch of radio stations next week -
mailchi.mp...
(Also, do you have some connection to south pasadena?)
:
↳
Jeff Moore @2:44
yep
:
morphe, I’m sorry the bogs are impossible! the silver lining is that your comment follows in the lineage of many gorgeous melancholic Irish writers
:
This alb is so good
:
Upsamny’s other stuff is a little more ambient oriented and good, but this stuff is glitchy and hyper granular with textures, beats, etc., really cool.
♥
:
↳
778 @2:44
So... hard-edged and also whimsical? Is that the aesthetic?
:
Works for me! But there’s a reason I don’t write about music (i.e., I’m shite at it).
:
Whoops, replied to wrong comment. I’ll shut up now :)
♥
:
↳
Barney Grubbs @2:44
Yes, I grew up there :) I've vaguely heard about the Wetland Project but thanks for reminding me!
♥
:
Thanks for the set! Enjoy the weekend!
♥
:
↳
morphe' @2:35
yes sorry about the soggy bog!
♥
:
The taxonomy of musical genres these days is CRAZY. Ridiculous, but also often pretty entertaining.
:
↳
Jeff Moore @2:48
originally yes, in it's more amorphous days. But now it seems to mean it sounds like coneheads
♥
:
↳
778 @2:53
Ha! I'll keep an ear out for that.
♥
:
Great show, thank you DJ Saltzshaker!
♥
:
Already?! I thought the bog would last forever!
Thanks, Saltzshaker!
♥
:
↳
saltzshaker @2:51
Me too! My mom & brother are still there, but we probably all graduated well before you--my younger sister was class of '95 (I think). (facebook keeps posting as a suggestion, probably the SP/WFMU nexus).
♥
:
Thanks, Saltzshaker!
♥
:
Nice show Ms Saltz!
:
Past two days in the Bog have been delightful. Wednesday I was gardening in a big backyard in Midwood, Brooklyn, and the sound of the bog mosquitos freaked me out! Oh, just the radio. And today's most important gardening tip,"Prep the beds!" Great DJ vibe! Reminded me of KALX DJ Tumbleweed - you know him! You are gentler, but both share that desire to connect with we the listeners. Keep it up. Gracias.
♥
:
Thank you once again, Saltzshaker!
:
Thanks, Saltzshaker!
:
Thanks SaltzShaker and all ..
♥
:
Thanks for the show! Time to squelch back out of the bog, rinse off the wellies, and put them out to dry.
♥
:
Great show! Hope you’re back soon!!
♥
:
Thanks Saltz!
♥
:
hiya, Saltzshaker! Everyone!
