Sequoia: I get the caffeine withdrawal! It can take a while to really recover from not having it. But, speaking from the other side, I can tell you it is worth it. While I do always miss caffeine, overall, my energy is without it is much higher and more steady. Very consistent level of energy and I also sleep more deeply. If you are trying to get off it, good luck to you! Avatar 9:57am

The thing is, caffeine feels so good. It’s such an amazing, powerful substance. It is to be respected for sure. Just another beautiful gift from the earth. Avatar 🪕 Swag For Life Member 10:01am

I stopped drinking coffee during the pandemic and have not gone back since. Don't miss it in the slightest. I dunno. I just lost interest in it, I guess -- I suppose my coffee routines were tied to my work routines. At any rate, I think I had a few cups in 2022 and then maybe one on NYE 2024? And that's it since 2020. Seemed like not a big deal, but I also wasn't really following a goal. Just kind of did it. Avatar 10:05am

coffee helps me have great poopies in the morning - no matter how much I might want to quit, great poopies are not anything I'm willing to sacrifice! Avatar 10:06am
cricket:

↳ Handy Haversack @10:01

your note about it being tied to your work routines really resonates with me - I didn't even become a daily caffeine drinker until I started a job entailing pretty grueling 12 hour shifts in my 20s, & even after leaving that place, the habit remains :[ Avatar 10:06am

melinda: I quit caffeine for many months, maybe even a year or more (it's a blur and I don't trust my memory) but was only able to do it with ashwagandha which ended up being a worse cost-benefit and I've been back on caffeine for the last 9 or so years. I remember the exact moment I started up again and it was the 2nd time I came to the FMU studio to volunteer for marathon! Avatar 10:08am

Great poopies are important. Avatar 10:10am
DJ Out-Regis: When I quit coffee, the first two days were awful. I had horrific headaches. Drinking water was the key to weathering that storm. After a week, I was fine. After week two, I was bursting with new energy. I was off for about seven months. That first cup of relapse coffee was extremely powerful. My heart was racing. I won’t lie, it was an amazing feeling. Yeah, my office does a St. Patrick's Day party, and the HR fellow makes Irish coffee. I'd forgotten about it. Since I hate whipped cream and Bailey's AND the taste of Jameson, I'd always just had Jameson and coffee. Having four of those in 2022 had me ready to punch out the sun!

This year, I just had Jameson and water and dealt with the taste.
