Do we think "doing their own thing" means playing the things already under their fingers, more specifically: the individual parts of tunes that they normally play together? Up against another part of another tune from another player?

So, been asking the more computer-savvy about my latest electronic crises (still haven't replaced preamp/phono unit, but able to stream through CD player). My Windows 10 desktop is now becomming obsolete, and doesn't "qualify" for upgrade to Windown 11. I use it for internet, streaming, downloading and sending music, and it still works just fine. I've looked for "fixes" for this, and they seem to all involve getting into the registry (at which point I go away...).
Any ideas of easy fixes (of should I just get a Mac Mini...)?
I believe they stop updating it (which leaves one vulnerable to system vulnerabilities that bad guys can use to send in malicious software). In theory anti-virus should help for this, but is not 100%, and the Windows updates are still needed.

In answer to your earlier question, here's a poem I wrote on a lark (not a meadowlark) based on the haiku-like verse structure of Moonlight in Vermont, as an exercise for a writing workshop I co-lead at my library:
Grey to pink to blue
Cresting sun on mountaintops
Arizona dawn
Creosote and sage
Wafting on a gentle breeze
Fragrant arid day
Cool air and hot sun
Bees buzz on a flowered bush
AZ afternoon
Pink time has arrived
Setting sun ignites the clouds
Vibrant desert dusk
Suddenly, it seems,
Darkeness falls, the curtain drops
Evening, Tucson style
Low light nighttime sky
Moon and stars and planets gleam
Sleep, Sonora, sleep
I'm not sure I know Young's work well enough to comment on that! But I can buy it, sure, rhythmically.

In answer to your earlier question, here's a poem I wrote on a lark (not a meadowlark) based on the haiku-like verse structure of Moonlight in Vermont, as an exercise for a writing workshop I co-lead at my library:Grey to pink to blue
Cresting sun on mountaintops
Arizona dawn
Creosote and sage
Wafting on a gentle breeze
Fragrant arid day
Cool air and hot sun
Bees buzz on a flowered bush
AZ afternoon
Pink time has arrived
Setting sun ignites the clouds
Vibrant desert dusk
Suddenly, it seems,
Darkeness falls, the curtain drops
Evening, Tucson style
Low light nighttime sky
Moon and stars and planets gleam
Sleep, Sonora, sleep

I'm not sure I know Young's work well enough to comment on that! But I can buy it, sure, rhythmically.Doug Schulkind: The bass player on this date, Steve Davis, was married to the singer Khadijah. She was McCoy Tyner's sister. Tyner is the pianist on the date.
Charlie: Awesome show, Jeff, thank you! Inspiring and thought-provoking.
