My Windows 10 desktop is now becomming obsolete, and doesn't "qualify" for upgrade to Windown 11. I use it for internet, streaming, downloading and sending music, and it still works just fine. I've looked for "fixes" for this, and they seem to all involve getting into the registry (at which point I go away...).
Any ideas of easy fixes (of should I just get a Mac Mini...)?

I believe they stop updating it (which leaves one vulnerable to system vulnerabilities that bad guys can use to send in malicious software). In theory anti-virus should help for this, but is not 100%, and the Windows updates are still needed.

And as a historic 'turn off updates' user (they don't let you do that anymore), I never ran into any problems -- always suspected that the 'oh, you've gotta update for security' trope was just another trick. Not exactly, rw. From the bandcamp page for the tune: "They respond to a new conception of complexity, which in In Heaven Everything is Fine, on the one hand, embraces the suggestion of David Lynch’s unease aesthetics and, on the other hand, announces further fruits with the baritone saxophone and the electronics as protagonists, in a dark Goyesque reference to 'El Gran Cabrón' and 'Ecce Saturnus', both compositions dated 2012."

I need good computing for office work, a wide screen for the office software,, got a MacBook Pro and have been very happy with it (must be 5 years old, don't see the aging issues I usually get after a few years with Windows computers). Part of me just wants to get a Mac Mini and be done with it (though Apple does ditch older computers as well eventually...)

It's true; noticed that, too. But on the bandcamp page they've updated it to include "Spanish," I presume to (retroactively) keep it in series with the next several album titles.

In answer to your earlier question, here's a poem I wrote on a lark (not a meadowlark) based on the haiku-like verse structure of Moonlight in Vermont, as an exercise for a writing workshop I co-lead at my library:

Grey to pink to blue
Cresting sun on mountaintops
Arizona dawn

Creosote and sage
Wafting on a gentle breeze
Fragrant arid day

Cool air and hot sun
Bees buzz on a flowered bush
AZ afternoon

Pink time has arrived
Setting sun ignites the clouds
Vibrant desert dusk

Suddenly, it seems,
Darkeness falls, the curtain drops
Evening, Tucson style

Low light nighttime sky
Moon and stars and planets gleam
Sleep, Sonora, sleep
