Jeff: I’ve said it before - “Breakaway” is my favorite Beach Boys single. Do I think it’s the best? No - there are a ton of “better” singles they recorded. “Good Vibrations” might be the greatest single ANYONE EVER RECORDED. If Murry Wilson, indeed, wrote the lyrics to “Breakaway”, as fucked up as a dad and manager he might’ve been, the sensitivity and empathy he must’ve felt for Brian is very evident in those words.

Hi Bob!
  12:46pm
Jeff: Some thoughts on Dave Mason. I was a huge fan in the early to mid ‘70s. I loved his songwriting contributions to Traffic, thought he was a great multi-instrumentalist (guitar, in particular) and appreciated his work as producer (Family), sideman (w/Delaney & Bonnie, George Harrison, early Derek & the Dominos, etc). But, he never did anything of real value after “Alone Together”. I still dug his live shows throughout the ‘70s, but that was about it. I went to see a gig he did at The Bottom Line w/Jim Capaldi. Steve Winwood was sitting around 10’ from me with his wife. Dave kept going to the mic saying things like “let’s see if we can get Stevie up here”. He was being a total pain in the ass! Steve was squirming in his seat and, finally, gave in and went up on stage. They did a couple of tunes “Gimme Some Lovin’” and “Low Spark…”. Mason might’ve sung backup on the Spencer Davis tune, but he had absolutely nothing to do with “Low Spark…”. I also went to one of those Traffic Jam shows he did earlier this century. The setlist was ridiculous! He performed a bunch of Traffic songs he wasn’t involved with while neglecting the great tunes like “Hole In My Shoe” that he was responsible for. May he rest in peace, but he was one perplexing cat.

I'm not saying the YouTube Yoga videos are better (or as good) as an instructor-MsJazz did use an instructor for a long time. An instructor can help correct some poses that you're doing incorrectly, and push you more than you might on your own. But, just for getting your feet wet (and for me the YouTube was enough), it can't be beat.
