good morning one and all! I'm having a blast at the first weekend of Jazzfest, and on today's show we'll check out some of the bands that will be here next weekend. Let's go festing!

Ha! They are so creepy!! I've killed a few in my day!! Grew up in Houston,! There are ton there and in Austin, too! I don't see too many around anymore as I have my yard exterminated regularly!!
today: Bruce Hornsby, Burning Spear, Pine Leaf Boys, Davell Crawford, Sonny Landreth, maybe a bit of Rhiannon Giddens or Stevie Nicks (on at the same time as Bruce Hornsby)
tomorrow: Ron Carter, Catherine Russell, Irma Thomas, Chris Thomas King, St. Vincent, the Headhunters, Sunpie, and a bit of the Isley Brothers if I can manage it (they're playing at the same time as Ron Carter)
Sounds like some great choices!! I'll be excited to see Irma again! Wish I could see the Isley Brothers! My friend that I always go to Jazz Fest with, her 2 yr-old granddaughter is named after them, except her mamma spells it Eisley!
She sure can and her outfits are always killer too! Cool chick! I've seen her at Tipitina's too. A few years ago Dumpstaphunk brought her on stage for a few songs
FF, heard about the first hour of your show last night while getting ready to go see The Ripe at 13th Floor last night, then jumped over to see Andrew Kashen with the Disciples of Creation over at Hole in the Wall!

I love that you bring up the impossible choice as well because that happens at a lot of festivals and people don't usually talk about it that much.
