pre 1980 and post 1980's both 45's and LP's then alphabetical order. Certain things have their own catagories - eg. Blues, Jazz, Weirdo, etc.
by genre. Classical (baroque, medieval, actual classical) on the left, then next to that, abruptly!, jazz, older pop, 1920s to 1940s, then early rock n roll (Little, Bo, Fats, Buddy, etc.), then US groups/artists of the 60s, then mostly British (Irish ok), ending with a LOT of Beatles.

I tried to have my dad’s record collection organised, but he doesn’t even have his CD’s organised! Ha. My vinyl records are mainly 50s-60s but I have a variety of mixtapes I’ve made which I need to go back and listen to lol

I have 7 crates, mainly sorted by genre. One crate is local and friends... I don't have many 45s, the ones I have were poorly treated when I was younger. Newer 45s are pristine tho.
I have 3 of those boxes for 45s, starting with I Want to Hold Your Hand and going past Kid (the Pretenders). Also my darling wife loved 45s and she has lots of Chuck and Buddy and such in leatherette books
Alphabetical by band name / surname and as chronological as possible within the artist catagory. Comps at the end alphabetically by title. All genres together.
Pandora had a station for like every pet “music for cats” but I had to ditch it cos it only played 5 songs just different renditions in a loop! (Clair de lune-Debussy, Gymnopadies- Eric Satie and a few others, I love those songs but not on a loop when there’s others out there!)
