Well this side of Buffalo is pretty quiet but I imagine downtown and some other bars are rockin rigth now. Though I have heard some fireworks here and there↳ Song: "Vexation" by "Bonce"
Bonce! 😺😺↳ Bandit @12:37
Hear you loud and clear there, my now deceased aunt on my dad's side won 3.8 mil in the NJ lottery and blew it all in Vegas, she was an early covid casualty and died with nothing↳ Song: "3/31/2013 - Horseshoe Casino, Cleveland, OH" by "...
I am enjoying this ambient track though! Something very vaporwavey about it↳ Song: "3/31/2013 - Horseshoe Casino, Cleveland, OH" by "...
How does something like this work? How many layers of audio are there - are they all from the same day/place?↳ Rockity @12:53
Astoundingly, it is a raw file from a portable recorder, just walking through the casino. (I was live-mixing other media into it in a few places, though)↳ alexandra @12:58
Hi hi, Alexandra!↳ chinn @12:57
Ah okay - that makes sense but also I think I’d go into sensory overdrive having that amount of sound swirling around me in real life. Lovely /interesting through headphones, tho. 1:03am↳ Song: "3/31/2013 - Horseshoe Casino, Cleveland, OH" by "...
suppose this is where the 2 ships pass silently in the night … as i have never been or had any attraction to gambling, 🎰 especially in any type of a large casino. However i am curious about the circus-like 🎪 Vegas & beyond atmosphere … 🙃 🤷♂️.↳ Edless K in Tucson @1:12
Are you a ranger at saguaro now?↳ Edless K in Tucson @1:12
one time flying back to SF we could see a huge bright reflecting cluster in the desert.↳ chinn @12:57
I once made a mounted mic field recording in a massive Tokyo Pachinko parlor and found it unbearable to either listen to, or work up into anything.↳ alexandra @1:20
vegas is only for rich ppl now↳ alexandra @1:15
No, but I worked there from '03-'05 and then again here and there since, know Saguaro very well, 1st in wildland fire and then as a biologist, hung up my Stetson to ditch visitor centers and run around outdoors as a wildlife biologist↳ joe mulligan @1:22
100%↳ Edless K in Tucson @1:23
Very cool. Headed there end of July. Was there in October and loved it.↳ joe mulligan @1:25
You've already beat the system!↳ chinn @1:28

Where are you at? Summahtime in the desert, nothing new haha↳ Edless K in Tucson @1:36
Joshua Tree↳ alexandra @1:37
I am actively considering moving to Twenty Nine Palms, for work, I'm doing tortoise and solar farm work, going back to Blythe and Desert Center for a couple of weeks tomorrow, I can see Joshua Tree NP from where I work, the idea of having it in my backyard is very appealing↳ Edless K in Tucson @1:42
I love Twentynine Palms! Kind of obsessed with the place, I used to rent a cabin there to write.↳ chinn @1:44
Was it at the Inn. A lot of writers I’ve met come thru the inn.↳ alexandra @1:45
I know and love the Inn, but no, just a weird cabin on that vast spread of mid-20th c. plots↳ Edless K in Tucson @1:42
I have yet to see a tortoise. My husband has seen one twice. We moved here 2023 and I think I’m ok with staying here forever. I like being able to hermit out.↳ chinn @1:46
Weird cabin …. Sounds like my house :)loving the selections/vibes tonight 🌿🐞🐈⬛🪷
Venus and Jupiter were hanging out a little earlier, but it appears that they have dipped behind the Western horizon for now
it has been surprisingly quiet here (Hoboken) -- even though one of the *official* Knicks watch party bars is six blocks up the street from me -- some random whoops and hollering, fire crackers, honking car horns -- but that is about it!
never been to a casino! but when a teenager, went with my younger sister and Dad to the horse races (this was WAY before i was aware of the barbaric cruelty behind that "sport") -- i remember winning a whopping $16.00 (hey this was the 1970s! and not having an allowance or a job, i think my Dad was doling out the money) -- but i felt terrible for my Dad, he lost on EVERY bet!
my Dad's younger brother was my Godfather, he went to Vegas and bet on the horses a LOT! i think any gambling streak i have came from him 🎲 🎱🎲
only time i was in Atlantic City was when i was a sophomore in high school -- our football team won some division, so a bunch of us went on buses to watch them play -- this was maybe 1975? waaay before any casinos, but tons of other sleaze ball ambience 😸😸
before the game, my friends and i went exploring the Boardwalk, the arcades -- it was sooooo freeing to go nuts on endless pinball machines, smoke cigarettes (and buy cigarettes! underage and *unsupervised*)
↳ slugluv1313 @1:50
I hope there’s endless pinball and cigarettes in heaven 💜↳ alexandra @1:55
🎵In heaven there is no Cigs, thats why we smokem here!!🎵↳ slugluv1313 @1:50
my ex liked the horse races. I worked there on weekends, holidays late 70s, then mid 80s-90s↳ chresti @1:58
I won and lost about $20,000 on the horses. I'm lucky only in the sense that I came out even, and stopped.↳ Bandit @1:57
I wish I could, brother↳ tom tom the pipers son @2:02

ooo Midsommer 🌓🌱🐞🌺🐝🍄🦋🌱🌓 2:06am↳ Song: "Rubberneckin' (Live)" by "Elvis Presley"
this is the Elvis that is featured in the Baz Luhrmann docu “EPiC Elvis Presley in Concert”, imo, jaw-droppingly great to experience in a fun sounding theatre = the visuals are restored to eye-popping quality & the overall gestalt is fascinating … capturing the zeitgeist of that Vegas ether in that perhaps all too permissive vibe’d era & scene! imo, with hindsight, some of it is very funny to revisit! 🤯😃 👏🥳👏↳ alexandra @1:48
I've worked with tortoises a lot, one of the best things I've done was assisting a master s student where we'd go out and catch them and bring them back to our field camp where we had an x-ray, seeing images of female tortoises with like 15 eggs inside them, that was field work in Saquaro. Haven't found any around Desert Center yet, not good habitat↳ chinn @2:05
not yet anyway↳ alexandra @1:55
Alex! 💜💜💜↳ chresti @1:58
hi chresti -- WOW!↳ alexandra @2:02
good night, Alex -- sweet dreams! 😻😻↳ tom tom the pipers son @2:15

All quiet here in Little Pakistan on Coney Island Ave. in Brooklyn, and I'm not complaining.↳ chinn @2:15
Still quiet over here in Buffalo↳ Bandit @2:18

This whole album is so powerful↳ Bandit @2:44
Wild to think this was 10 years ago.↳ chinn @2:45
Almost hard to believe that's so↳ chinn @2:45
I believe Bowie knew this was going to be his last album. Hence the many references to death on the album↳ chinn @2:54
Great show Chinn!! See you next weekend!be well, everyone! 😺😺
