Bandit: I truly believe gambling addiction is hereditary. My Dad is a degenerate gambler (not so much now that he is retired) and when I find myself at some type of gambling "thing" (casino, bingo, betting on sports, etc) I get a little too into it if I don't let my anxiety get the better of me. Casinos are very overwhelming to me on in more than one way lol ♥ 12:44am

Edless K in Tucson: I moved to Tucson from NV, Great Basin National Park where I was working as a ranger, lived 6 miles outside of Baker NV pop. 42, most remote place I've ever lived, my brother came to visit me, when I drove him back to LV at night to catch his flight, we came up over a rise 100 miles away, we could see the lights of LV, like a spaceship had crashed out in the desert ♥ 1:15am

No, but I worked there from '03-'05 and then again here and there since, know Saguaro very well, 1st in wildland fire and then as a biologist, hung up my Stetson to ditch visitor centers and run around outdoors as a wildlife biologist 🕯 ♥ 1:25am
joe mulligan: the first and last time I gambled in Vegas was on a 30 minute layover during a Southwest flight from Philly. they let us walk off the plane, I dropped a quarter in a slot machine, won $75, and walked back onto the plane. I've been to vegas a few other times but wont gamble ♥ 1:26am

it has been surprisingly quiet here (Hoboken) -- even though one of the *official* Knicks watch party bars is six blocks up the street from me -- some random whoops and hollering, fire crackers, honking car horns -- but that is about it!

never been to a casino! but when a teenager, went with my younger sister and Dad to the horse races (this was WAY before i was aware of the barbaric cruelty behind that "sport") -- i remember winning a whopping $16.00 (hey this was the 1970s! and not having an allowance or a job, i think my Dad was doling out the money) -- but i felt terrible for my Dad, he lost on EVERY bet!

my Dad's younger brother was my Godfather, he went to Vegas and bet on the horses a LOT! i think any gambling streak i have came from him 🎲 🎱🎲

only time i was in Atlantic City was when i was a sophomore in high school -- our football team won some division, so a bunch of us went on buses to watch them play -- this was maybe 1975? waaay before any casinos, but tons of other sleaze ball ambience 😸😸

before the game, my friends and i went exploring the Boardwalk, the arcades -- it was sooooo freeing to go nuts on endless pinball machines, smoke cigarettes (and buy cigarettes! underage and *unsupervised*)

I've worked with tortoises a lot, one of the best things I've done was assisting a master s student where we'd go out and catch them and bring them back to our field camp where we had an x-ray, seeing images of female tortoises with like 15 eggs inside them, that was field work in Saquaro. Haven't found any around Desert Center yet, not good habitat 2:07am
