When I was rehearsing in the Curtis Chaos band in Greenpoint 2016-2018 one of the neighbors was a retired nypd. In his retirement he became a hobby machinist and a hifi stereo maniac.
He would often just show up during our rehearsals and talk about cocobolo sticks for hours, telling awful cop stories of 70's NYC

My older brother took karate and when he didn't become a ninja after the first year (even though he was good) I started to really question that life path. Looking back, I think some adults dropped the ball by not developing ninja schools.
