Hiya Julie & soul-night’ers. Somehow i missed-out on this dark maiden of song … how are her entire albums? for our listening pleasure (& perusal). ¿what ‘more famous’ singer is her voice reminding me of? - it’s tickling my brain 🧠
Oh dang, YES! - Thanks Olleh. That must be it, Lene Lovich (w/ a titch of Nina Hagen thrown into the mix) 😜
I audio recognized the song from my youth, without remembering it 🤷♂️. Hahaha

Hi Julie and all! I was in Mexico last week and our balcony was at tree height so we were treated to all kinds of tropical bird watching.
There was a lot of promotion at the time that was purposely vague about her roots. Hungarian, Romanian, perhaps a Soviet exile. All kinds of planted hints meant to seem exotic and mysterious. Not from Lene herself but Stiff records and magazine articles.

Oh My she was one of the very unlucky ones! = wiki says: On 13 October 2021, a man attacked eight people with various weapons, including a bow and arrow, at locations in Kongsberg, Buskerud, Norway, a town about 70 kilometres (43 mi) southwest of the capital city Oslo. Five people were killed, and three others were injured. The accused, a 37-year-old Danish citizen born in Norway and with a history of mental illness. I recall hearing/reading about this in the news! Just sad & horrible.
recently had fun visiting with a few pairs of cardinals on a lanai in Kauai. a pair of northern cardinals would even land on my finger and eat from my hand. wouldn't normally do this, but i'm not worried about them thriving.
