I taped off the air much of wfmu in the 90s and mailed them to a friend who had moved away. The Steinski tapes were especially loved, sometimes I had a hard time parting with them. I had not been able to find many things I had heard on them in the archive so I wrote saying there must be more. Next day Steinski emailed me saying he had them all on DAT. He had a DAT player that did not work, but I picked up the tapes and the player anyway. Found a guy who could repair the player, shipped it to him and 2 months later had a like new DAT player and set to transferring the shows to .flac Super excited that the shows will be broadcast and preserved in the archive!

I'm a bit confused in the song listing-I think it was the Shankar I commented "pretty" on, did dig the post-bop of iMAGINARIUM, and Surf Masada is much fun!
I've never gotten around to seeing Tull. Ian Anderson's latest incarnation was at The Beacon last year and I missed it. But I do like what I've heard on some of the recent albums.
I love his back announcing with a little bit of the track being back announced, a feature of being pre-recorded! Here are some of his shows in the archive: wfmu.org...

BTW I saw that sculpture and more Louise Bourgeois stuff when it was at Storm King about 10 years ago.
The Spider is really impressive, now housed at Dia in Beacon. I'll have to check out Storm King to see what's tehre. For an example of the schlpture's size, here's a picture of me crouching under it.:flic.kr...
