Yikes! 3:19pm↳ Mollywog @3:12
Yeah, it was part of the great corporate record company consolidations. All kinds of gatefold albums were being reissued in a single/closed sleeve, three album sets jammed into one jacket. I suspect cocaine had suddenly gone up in price, necessitating austerity↳ CupcakeJenny @3:19

This was one of two Beatles albums my dad bought during their initial run. I once asked him why, as he's never been much of a rock and roll fan. He said he wanted to see what all the fuss was about. After listening to this and the White Album, he concluded it was about nothing.↳ Roberto @3:34

Thanks Andrew! 4:52pm↳ Greg-313 @4:46
I think I mentioned this on Discotech Underground's chat a while back, but one of the reasons critics attacked Grand Funk Railroad so hard may have been due to GFR's manager. The band claimed in later interviews that their manager advised them against doing too many interviews or PR events to help the band build a sense of rock star mystique. They later deduced that it was actually because the manager wanted to give the impression that he was the one running the show. It became something of an open secret in the industry that GFR was a manufactured band. Despite this being false, it earned the ire or critics back in the days when authenticity was prized above all else.
🥁 ♥ 4:55pm↳ Jay Current @4:52
Of course though, that's the band's account, so take it with a grain of salt.↳ bradford @4:55
