Good morning glisteners, hi clay. We lost a good one this week. My dad, known here as Jeff in Fernandina Beach, died on Monday at 83. He was a huge fan of WFMU and wake and bake especially brought him so much joy. Thanks for the positive community here. Love to you all. Peace, love, and pixie ✨
Clay, you would like Snail Mail's cover of Pavement's "Frontwards," from the OST to the Pavements movie. It's such a sweet cover. And has never been played on Wake!

Sending love to you Alex. Thanks for sharing about your beautiful dad. WFMU forever. I should be so lucky to listen at 83 years old. Blessings to you, friend.

Speaking of empathy, we saw Bill Callahan last night. What an amazing show. Jim White on drums. And one of the highlights, for sure, was his new song "Empathy," which is about gaining empathy for his dad once he becomes a parent. Such a moving gesture. Tough song. But a good one.

I just can't believe these morons are still in charge. Disaster and international embarrassment at every turn. Pulling the whole world into their swirling toilet bowl!
Stalking Mike Watt in 10th grade and him talking our ears off in the alley behind the club for over an hour the afternoon before a fiIREHOSE show was amazing. Gave us a punk rock history lesson lol. Also just funny. Stuck his cigar in his mouth backward and burnt his tongue. 😂

personally.. ignoring him is the best policy for me.
Do you think he cares one bit about how those who oppose him and protest against him feel?
Not one bit.
As long as he has his stranglehold on the morons who support and adore him including the bootlickers in Congress and state governors instituting his disgusting policies where they can that's all that matters to him.
He just laughs at the rest of those who oppose and protest.
Better for me to ignore him then to let anger well up inside me over something I can't change.
Hopefully the country will come to it's senses in the mid-terms & beyond and oust these cretins.

2008? Maybe '09 REM at Jones Beach. Craziest lightning storm i'd ever seen out there delayed the show. Talked to a woman after the show in the lot asked her how she liked the show, said "They played Orange Crush, how could I not?"
Usually I hear stuff I don't know with AotW, which is pretty much impossible with me and R.E.M. But I have really loved listening collectively with all of you instead of just shouting the lyrics by myself (or with K8).

personally.. ignoring him is the best policy for me.Do you think he cares one bit about how those who oppose him and protest against him feel?
Not one bit.
As long as he has his stranglehold on the morons who support and adore him including the bootlickers in Congress and state governors instituting his disgusting policies where they can that's all that matters to him.
He just laughs at the rest of those who oppose and protest.
Better for me to ignore him then to let anger well up inside me over something I can't change.
Hopefully the country will come to it's senses in the mid-terms & beyond and oust these cretins.
