WM: If you're a fan of Bewitched, I'm sure you would like I Married a Witch (1942). It was directed by Rene Clair, an important early French filmmaker, and stars the very beautiful Veronica Lake at the top of her career. I saw it a few years ago and remember it as being surprisingly good - one of the few successful American films by a European director. The people who produced Bewitched TV must have been aware of it. Set in 17th Century Denmark, an aging pastor (who conducts witch trials) marries a much younger woman (whose mother had been burned as a witch). It's a blend of witchcraft and Freudian psychology.
