Still have all my cassettes & this one actually got listened to fairly
frequently. All these tunes still hit my aged limbic brain 🧠. I guess in 2014 they made their back catalog music re-available (unfortunately only via mp3 files) 🤷♂️. great stuff!
Exactly. I heard that word somewhere and it totally makes sense. There's even drum-machine software that fakes that effect; mix up the kick and everything else ducks out. Kind of annoying, but hey. Ducking?
in my early days of recording using 8-track cartridge and a cheap composite system that effect was extreme, and although i ultimately used it *creatively*, was quite annoying sometimes.
Audio ducking is also what smartphones when you're listening to music and someone calls, or a notification comes in; Android phones give you more control over it (of course), but iPhones do it as well
Mrs. Druid is a Jeep Wrangler owner, so we're also very familiar with that form of ducking... involving ducks...

my casio keyboard does it to such an extreme that i've had to record parts separately in order to keep the base track from nearly disappearing when another part is played. (or rather, re-record; because the piece was originally spontaneous.)
