David The Splatter:
"All things dull and ugly,
All creatures short and squat,
All things rude and nasty,
The Lord God made the lot.
Each little snake that poisons,
Each little wasp that stings,
He made their brutish venom.
He made their horrid wings.
All things sick and cancerous,
All evil great and small,
All things foul and dangerous,
The Lord God made them all."
3:37pm
The Barman:
^emerges from the cellar dressed in navy blazer, cavalry twills and Homburg, and holding a signed photo of Mimsy Farmer and a large raffia work donkey*
Now then, now then.
Happy World Donkey Day everyone.
Yesterday I found a hardcover first edition of Tom Wolfe's The Right Stuff for just 2 euros and I bought a (Danish design) wooden airplane toy in a second hand store. I saw it, and immediately fell in love with it.
Yes it is. Imagine a grown up man happily walking through the city with a wooden airplane in his hand. (no, I wasn't making it fly and I wasn't making airplane noises...)
Yesterday, as I walked home along the seafront, there was a chap blowing streams of giant bubbles to amuse passing children. I was so captivated by the bubbles that he blew some especially for me to chase <3
I was waiting for you to type this because I knew you'd do a much better job of it than I would :-)

DJ GeorgyGirl:
There really *should* be a band called Bubble Goodness
3:59pm
Honski de Boiski Cha Cha:
GG, PK, TBM (if The Barman should allow such abbreviation) Flange and Frigate punters: whatever tyme the hands of Mikkey Mouse point to, have a good one.
3:59pm
The Barman:
Bubble died way too soon on that ill-advised trip to Patagonia.
Dear Barman, I would like to have a taste of anything Animal from the Muppet Show would have - wait, am I ready for something like that? Well I won’t touch the stuff Beaker is usually having
I recently saw her in “Road to Salina” (1970), one of the few movies Robert Walker, Jr. had a starring role in.
In the unpopular “Mister Roberts” sequel “Ensign Pulver” (1964), he played the character Jack Lemmon was famous for.
Unfortunately the theme and this song reminds me of the story of Nat King Cole, his dog and his less than neighbourly neighbours. “We don’t want trouble here.” And not a happy ending to that story.
Just read about Delmonte foods here in the states going belly up. They can peaches in California and with the bankruptcy, the farmers will be destroying close to 500k trees before they produce. So, so sad!!!!

Mr Fab:
I ran into the star of "The Bear" in Beverly Hills. What's his name, Jeremy White sumthin? I can tell you two things about him based on this minute-long encounter - smokes ciggies, and likes playing with his kids.

GG.....oh I had a strange dream last night. I don't remember much, but it involved thai food, a monkey and a train 🥸

DJ GeorgyGirl:
Someone on Reddit said that they were "too young and punk to listen to the Flange". I nearly posted a photo of John Lydon when he had long hair and John Lennon glasses, but decided that life was too short and I had better things to do. Lol
5:10pm
WM:
Hieratic (High Priest); Hierodule (temple priestess who shows mercy to the men who come to worship the Goddess): Heresiarch (founder of a heresy).
There's a Liam appearance on the Graham Norton show from a few years ago, where he insisted on wearing his trademark parka, and is visibly *melting* under the studio lights. Lol
5:25pm
WM:
Henri Gaudier-Brzeska is the subject of a terrible Ken Russell film Savage Messiah which however does feature a passionate performance by Dorothy Tutin and a great nude scene by Helen Mirren (long before she became Dame Helen).
The bleeding obvious but you might know the source of the song title Third Uncle (his one time Finn of a girlfriend Ritva Saarikko told him “eno” is Finnish for “uncle”…). Oh and also a song called Seven Deadly Finns
5:45pm
WM:
Combining the subjects of nudity and sculpture consider Girl with Oar (1930) sculpted by Ivan Shadr and modeled by the very beautiful Vera Voloshina, who fought in WWI and was executed by the Nazis:

For a moment I thought the sound of the plane flying above casa de Honski was actually a part of the ending of this song! Had to take off my headphones to make sure

The bleeding obvious but you might know the source of the song title Third Uncle (his one time Finn of a girlfriend Ritva Saarikko told him “eno” is Finnish for “uncle”…). Oh and also a song called Seven Deadly FinnsWM: Combining the subjects of nudity and sculpture consider Girl with Oar (1930) sculpted by Ivan Shadr and modeled by the very beautiful Vera Voloshina, who fought in WWI and was executed by the Nazis:
